With the whole lemm.ee shutting down thing, there’s been a lot of interest in migrating communities and user accounts to piefed
Specifically piefed.social
Take the whole !television@lemm.ee to !television@piefed.social migration for example.
While viewing the piefed feed seems to work fine, there’s an issue with adding a piefed user to Vger.
I’ve registered @zabadoh@piefed.social but I can’t add that to Vger because the capcha doesn’t appear.
I know piefed isn’t exactly the same thing as Lemmy, but would you consider supporting adding piefed accounts?
I hope so, whilst I appreciate the efforts of the Interstellar app creators for piefed it’s a far cry from voyages polished finish.
I’m pretty sure the developer previously stated they will look into piefed after Lemmy becomes 1.0. Don’t know if that has changed or will change due to lemm.ee shutdown.
The lemm.ee shutdown might give new priority to that feature.
It’s the 3rd largest Lemmy instance, so it will affect a lot of users. https://fedidb.com/software/lemmy
Absolutely. Based on fedidb, looks like lemm.ee is about 15% of mau.
I was looking into switching this morning after hearing about the shut down. Seems interstellar is the only app that works for it right now.
I’m on the fence. I know it’s a low bar but I don’t want to make a new account, learn a new app, and figure how to transfer my subscriptions and blocks. Might just wait until Lemmy 1.0 comes out and see if Voyager with support it and my instance will switch.
Me too. Piefed looks interesting, but I’m happy to keep using Lemmy’s web interface and Voyager.
As long as Lemmy users can migrate somewhere and be supported.
and figure how to transfer my subscriptions
That’s very simple. Just export your settings from Lemmy, import them into PieFed, done.
Haha.
I’m aware of how very low the bar is (look up what 2 buttons to press).
I appreciate you trying to help me though. I really like that about Lemmy/Fediverse :)
I’m loving PieFed so far. The ability to follow feeds makes it so much easier to combine all of the various related communities.
I’m hoping Voyager starts supporting it as well, because the Voyager features would really take it to the next level.
