Today’s game is some more FBC Firebreak. Me and my friends (who have this) have been playing it Non-stop since launch. Today we tried to tackle a challenge that has been eluding us which is the OSHA Compliant one. It has us do a Extreme Difficulty Level without being downed. We got it our first try but it was definitely a struggle. We came out of it feeling so proud though.

I feel like it really helped highlight why we’re enjoying this game so much too. It required such tight teamwork from us that i feel like we don’t get to try in a lot of Games. For example, in the Screenshot above my pogo is excellent at crowd control, so i was holding a doorway to buy the other’s some time to escape. Then when they were far enough back i sent out my Gnome to Thin the horde a little bit to buy us some extra time.

Another example is here. I had to hold this staircase to keep us from being swarmed. It also though shows how hectic things can get fast and call for split second decisions, because both the other players i was with needed to heal so i was alone holding this and we were about to be flanked. I made a split second decision to leave my post and take out a heavy enemy which would have stopped us from escaping. I’m not sure if any of this is making sense, and it’s probably sounding really game ad heavy but it was the best way i could think to explain why i’m loving this game so much.

The escapes of this game are really awesome too though. They’re a mad dash to the elevator to get out and they make you feel really cool (and if you’re playing with others) coordinated. It’s such a badass feeling to hold the elevator door down to the last second to keep from being swarmed with your friends.

We got the stoplight OOP for the first time ever today. Sadly didn’t get to experience it as we quickly eliminated it before it could stop us. Out of all the Corrupted items it’s definitely the weakest i feel like because we stopped it just like that. It is scary though if you’re that invested in a run and can’t find the Black Rock neutralizer, because i have no clue what it does (and i kind of want to find out myself too). I dont know if it just freezes you if you move, or does Damage, or maybe it just decides to insta kill you. Either way, Scary if you can’t find the BRT, but if you have it not so much.

While i don’t mean for today’s post to come off sounding like an essay or review (it’s just me sharing my thoughts and some images) or even an ad of some sort, overall i’m really loving the game. Maybe it’s because i’m playing with people i know i work well with together but the general loop of get in, do the job, and get out is super addicting for us. Not to mention i feel like the “Hard Mode” isn’t nightmarishly hard. I love a good challenge, but also not when it depends on others or i’ll be doing it multiple times. Take for example Halo 2’s Legendary. Loved it, never want to do it again though. Firebreak having a Hard mode that’s challenging but also not Nightmarishly hard is highly appreciated by me.

I’ve been considering getting this game because I love Remedy, but I don’t have any friends. Has anyone had much experience with the match-making portion of the game and can comment on it?

I haven’t messed with it myself but i have heard positive things about it. I have heard also though that’s there’s an issue recently with people killing other players for lost assets though (despite it being shared between players)

Dang, you’re still posting? I haven’t seen these for months.
Probably because I rarely scroll below 100 upvotes on Top…

Huh, I’m intrigued by the lil floating guy. And the other enemies… Are they zombie-like?

I’m glad you are enjoying it, but I wonder: how much of the enjoyment is inherent to the game and how much is just having a good time with your mates (and would be equally fun in any other co-op game)?

I think it’s a combination of both. I enjoy the core gameplay (I’ll sometimes play a few games by myself), but I think if it wasn’t for playing with friends I definitely wouldn’t be having as much fun. The fact that im not really one for public matchmaking doesn’t help either

Follow on question : would it be enjoyable (or even possible) just 2 players?

      I only have one friend…
