I suspect that this will go unnoticed at my work but that’s fine.
My people once gave me my own birthday card to sign and then never got around to giving me the card.

i always opt out of any birthday business at work. i take that day off and ignore work. that’s my birthday card!
Oh, cool, my work switched to 9/80 and this is our off-Friday. So on the one hand I got the day off, but on the other the company ain’t acknowledging us at all.
Meh, I worked today and also didn’t get acknowledged. I think you had a better deal.
