    Wouldn’t be surprised if YouTube and Netflix don’t use FFmpeg. I am pretty sure they use custom built hardware encoders. Pretty sure Netflix has a lot of blog posts about building their own encoding methods

      They either do use it or a heavily modified fork to fit their usecase.

      But I am pretty certain I read about their usage on it.

          okay, let me elaborate: the hardware acceleration requires custom software to interact with it yes, BUT, they probably still use ffmpeg and just pass -vcodec custom_thing to it
