For the sake of readers less familiar with cultures outside those heavily influenced by Abrahamic traditions we might add “in that community”[1] since their notion of the inherent sexual shame of nudity was an outlier in broader antiquity where mores re: nakedness were more often related to decorum or social status rather than morality or “sin.”
