As a presenter would be mortified.
As an attendee, hilarious.
That’s not really Forbes serving the malvertising intentionally. If your site hooks into a programmatic advertising stack, the risk of malware exists. This is from 2016, but it’s mostly true today. If a user is blocking ads and cookies and they disable their ad blocker on a specific site only, there’s little data to know about that user. So you get low $CPM on the bid which is mainly where the malicious ads win bids on actual quality sites. That’s why most top sites are very strict on who can bid nowadays.
I don’t see how it could be enforced without this. If you are operating internationally, comply or block your service from regions you cannot legally operate in.
Personally I don’t think Lemmy should comply. It’s an ad free community service with zero PII obligation besides an email and whatever IP you choose to connect from. No one has to be on Lemmy for any common social obligations.
If you want to be forgotten then leave!
Conservatives would counter 10M to stay on the court and consider it a deal.
Yeah just pure profiteering, selling receivers with legal MG serial numbers.
It’s the same BS in California. Handgun roster requires manufacturers complete ‘safety testing’ in order to certify their models approved for sale. Manufacturers largely don’t comply. Naturally, law enforcement is exempt from the same purchasing requirements.
Cops get Gen 5 Glocks while normal folks can purchase Gen 3 models. Then sell them privately to flip for profit.
Scale. It’s a better quality audience but executives like BIG NUMBERS to make the juice worth the squeeze.
I think the investment supporting is worth it in the long run! Traditional social is basically a shitty rev share to reach a larger audience.
Limited view tickets were $1500 a piece when TS came to Levi stadium. Bonkers
I don’t have a solid answer for what is considered authentic, but growing up in California there are a few things I look for.
California has a huge labor shortage. It is extraordinarily expensive to live near any major population center. Agriculture is a huge industry, but many service, hospitality industries, etc. still need and require people living near big areas where the average housing price is 500k+ (this is including 1-2 commute to achieve that price excluding our high gasoline costs)
Who the fuck can sustainably work at or near minimum wage with those costs, paying full taxes.
This is an attempt at a labor policy that keeps all tech people happy they get can go out to dinner on Tuesday night.
The 5 stops on Caltrain between SFO and SJC is disingenuous. Assuming starting at SFO, you need to take BART to Millbrae and then Caltrain to Santa Clara and then a bus to SJC. The whole thing would take like 1hr45min if you timed a baby bullet express train perfectly. But yeah if drove or hired a driver you could get there in 40 min depending on traffic.
That’s kind of what California has in place for semi auto rifles. If the gun has certain ‘assault features’ like a collapsible stock, pistol grip, muzzle device, etc - the firearm needs to be taken apart to remove the magazine.
If the firearm has no assault features, then you can have a standard removable magazine (capped at 10 rounds). As a result you’ll see some pretty odd looking CA compliant rifles sold in state that are featureless.
What’s the identifier referenced in the IMDB database? Some kind of unique content id?
vibrational thank you auto correct. I guess you could say Boomers made bets that paid off big in the Bay Area. They’ve been rewarded for the risk, but damn it sucks just trying to live here when you don’t make big money.
I think doing that with programmatic ads would be difficult. Maybe hard coding a specific creative would be feasible.
They took these out of my Costco. Along with the brown mustard and combo pizza.
Kinda BS
Chase Reserve? Wondering if it’s worth it over the lower tier.
I would like to imagine a world where site advertising was reasonable. Ad blockers don’t exist, sites advertise 1 or 2 banners at $3-5 CPM and everyone gets paid and consumes content in synchrony. It won’t happen. Advertising is setup for ad blocking audiences and iOS cookieless environments. Everyone else subsidizes by viewing the myriad of placements splattered all over the page.
This is true, but they have your encrypted vault, and all the technical data to make unlimited informed attempts at cracking it. If you used LastPass, you definitely need to be changing passwords for your critical services at a minimum.
Silver Nissan does it again!
