I have no sources for this so take with a grain of salt… But I’ve heard that Tesla turns off self driving just before an accident so they can say it was the drivers fault. Now in this case, if it was on while it drove on the tracks I would think would prove it’s Tesla’s faulty self driving plus human error for not correcting it. Either way it would prove partly Tesla’s fault if it was on at the time.
Ice cream sandwiches are just ice cream between 2 dense cake layers. So by this definition, you’d be correct!

Yep that’s the one! Thanks for the Lemmy reference!
I wonder how far you can push this? Like there was a whole subreddit (can’t remember the name) that was dedicated to news that seems positive on the surface but is actually fucked up when you take 2 seconds to think. Could you just get chatgpt to come up with a way to positively frame the worst shit specifically to bait adds next to it?
I had a “Big meeting” last week. It went more like
1/2 day of adjusting the deck, a dry run, tweaks, feedback, wow I’m doing great this meeting is going to go great I’m so prepared!
10 minutes after meeting starts… Important individual: “Let me stop you right there”, boss takes over meeting, meeting details.
1/2 day of anxiety about how I did my best and it still wasn’t enough, and also how “Important individual” is an asshole and really just didn’t give a shit about the meeting in the first place. And to be clear… THEY REQUESTED THE MEETING WTF!!!
You just can’t win sometimes.
Generally it’s fine to remove those but I would consider having it put back on if you live anywhere that gets snow. Reason being is that this plate protects undercarriage parts from excessive corrosion as a result of salt on the roads. So your car isn’t going to break down if you remove it, but if you plan to keep the car long-term, it can extend the life of those parts. As someone who works on my own car and has also had several 15+ year old vehicles, I can attest that this plate does indeed reduce corrosion in those areas.
I’ll just leave this here: Robbins vs Lower Marion
I was going to say, I didn’t have Internet until college we still had CD-ROMs, game consoles, and of course the public library for Internet when needed. Not that these options aren’t excellent free entertainment.
My childhood dog was a rescue that was originally a stray dog. This dog would catch flies right out of the air! It didn’t take long for us to discover that he was so fast, nothing ever touched the ground. I once lost a whole waffle to him when it slipped off my plate and went seemingly direct into his mouth.
Nothing will wake you up faster than the sound of your pet throwing up
The feeling is even better when they let you go because you no longer have a moral obligation to transition anything over to your coworkers. You can just fuck off and not feel bad. This typically highlights all the holes in management when they are ineffective at delegating your tasks and things get dropped. My husband witnessed this happen recently. They let an employee go nearly a year ago, then a client started sending emails wondering what was happening to their project and why there hadn’t been communication.
Why not both?
I mean it this time
I hadn’t thought about it, but that would truly be the ideal situation. Imagine going to the store and all the eggs are from local’s extra stock. I know it couldn’t currently happen that way based on what regulations allow, but I can certainly imagine.
The fact that the upfront cost can be prohibitive and actual effort is involved but people are still doing it should tell you just how bad things have gotten. Plus, the more people that do it, the more they can teach others and help them out. I know people who got chickens after a neighbor got chickens and they saw how beneficial it was and if their neighbors can do it they certainly could as well.
They may actually be hurting themselves in the long run. The amount of people I know that have decided to get chickens since the pandemic has increased far more than I ever expected it would. And if you’ve ever had your own chickens before, you know that there’s plenty to go around and you share with friends and neighbors. So not only are they permanently losing more customers to people getting chickens, they’re also losing customers to friends of people that have chickens. Plus all these people are getting much higher quality eggs from happy chickens, so why would they ever go back? I know not everyone can, but, the more people that start raising chickens the better!
Same here. I only eat beef a few times a year as a treat both for health and environmental reasons. But coffee and chocolate so high up the list is more of a killer for me. I definitely enjoy a couple cups per day as well as at least one bite of dark chocolate. Probably should cut back now that I can’t claim ignorance.
