Guns are really simple to use. Reloading for most guns people will ever encounter outside the military is simple. You got the safety switch and the trigger and it’s really point and click at that point. I tell you the hardest part is learning how to hold it correctly. There is so much wrong with what you said.

First, kernel anticheats absolutely get bypassed. Second, kernel anti cheats are only a Windows things, and potentially not for long. (Not that they couldn’t be.) Valve makes games for Windows and Linux.

Ring0 crap, is one of the most insecure and potentially dangerous pieces of code you can willingly install on your machine. You’re trusting a company, to have more access to your machine than you do. Software you don’t get to see the change log, or know what it’s doing. And you’re really banking that the people who are writing this code know what they’re doing. Any especially now with the influx of AI, You’re really hoping that the access you’re giving them to your machine wasn’t ‘vibe coded’ (honestly you probably was). And when they mess up, and trust me they will, they wreck havoc on your install. See crowdstrike.

Yes, and it’s more efficient to use a normal check out. Which is what people have been doing for hundreds of years. If you’re going through self-check out and you have enough food for multi-generation, you’re an asshole. We used to have the express lane, which was for 10 items or less (though it should have said fewer), which was meant to get people with only a few things, through quickly. Self checkout replaced the express lanes. And now people will waste 10-30 minutes scanning things because they have a full cart and can’t think about another person, they only consider themselves.

I’ve stopped using the self-check out all together. My grocery store has clearly been trying to do more with less. So I want the bean counter to see people using normal check outs so they’re more inclined to hire more people. It’s sold to customers as “a convenience” when really it’s just having 1 person watch 4-12 self-checkouts instead of hiring more people and having 3 or 4 lanes open.

Also, self check outs are prone to failure, and if multiple fail at a time there’s usually a single person having to manage all of them.

My personal belief, if you can’t carry the items in your hands, then you have too much stuff. I find it very inconsiderate people who roll up with full carts. I don’t care you’re reason, but especially if you’re like “I have social anxiety”, buddy everyone is glaring at you. You couldn’t have more eyes on you and more people pissed off at you. And then if there’s any error, even more people are looking at you and you’re still going to have to deal with someone.

A well trained person will get you through the check-out much faster. I’ve also had cashier’s double check items to ensure they’re good (like eggs), or apply coupons for you, or in rare instances I’ve had something fail to scan so they do an over-ride and set whatever it was to $1 because they just don’t care.

Today, I ran into a bug. We’re being encouraged to use AI more so I asked copilot why it failed. I asked without really looking at the code. I tried multiple times and all AI could say was ‘yep it shouldn’t do that’ but didn’t tell me why. So, gave up on copilot and looked at the code. It took me less than a minute to find the problem.

It was a switch statement and the case statement had (not real values) what basically reads as ’ variable’ == ‘caseA’ or ‘caseB’. Which will return true… Which is the bug. Like I’m stripping a bunch of stuff away but co-pilot couldn’t figure out that the case statement was bad.

AI is quickly becoming the biggest red flag. Fast slop, is still slop.

So I’ve had multiple GF’s who were physically abusive, cheaters, chronic liars, gaslighters… so is there a version of this for me? Or are men never victims still?

So glad this didn’t exist like ~15 years ago. My one ex, who decided to start a relationship with her co-worker, while we were looking for and then financing a house… When I broke up with her (like 1 week after closing), while I was trying to process the betrayal, she took to Facebook and text messages spamming EVERYONE a fake story about me, trying to pass herself as the victim. Even including a fake pregnancy! All to make me look bad because I caught her cheating. Thankfully, this app didn’t exist, and several of my female friends reached out to me for my side of the story.

But all the “stories” on that app, 100% vetted, right? We get unbiased, both sides of the story, right… Evidence was required… right? Because imaging the harm someone could do if they were just petty, or scornful, of just bored. It’s not like women have ever made false rape claims… right…

I’m not trying to imply my situation is what all men go through… but you can’t just dismiss it, or other men, because it doesn’t fit into your social media-fueled narrative. Yes, some men suck (and that’s selling it short). But, women are just as capable of the same level of suck. We are all, after all, human.

That’s your personal bias. He lets people believe what they want. He used it for clout, and while you might not care about game development or cybersecurity, there are many who do. When he did security, he did social engineering. Which is just as valid, but if people are more impressed because they think he’s looking at source code and whatnot… he doesn’t correct them and leans into those stories. Combat is unvearied. The gameplay loop gets very repetitive very quickly.

Early game at least, the sandworm and dust storms provide an interesting looking threat for a while.

It’s not a bad game, but it’s a pvp centric game with minimal pve to justify the story of Dune.

To me it seems like it’s very much going to be a flash in a pan kind of game. It is going to live and die by rapid updates to add content. What is there if you know what you’re doing, you could experience the whole game in about a weekend.

You can use your own. But at every single point they’re going to tell you that your brand new top of the line modem, is out of date and is probably the problem of any issue that you’re having. They try so hard to gaslight customers in believing that you need to use their white labeled equipment. One of my co-workers, maybe oversold his capabilities and experience. That or whoever told me what he was capable of oversold him. Doesn’t matter at this point. Not that long ago, he basically was never submitting any merge requests, and when he did there were a ton of issues. Then one week, everything changed. He was writing code and a style that didn’t match what he had done the week before, there was an excessive amount of documentation where before there was none. It was co-pilot. He had gotten access to copilot, which we all have. But it was obvious that he’s been leaning heavily into it.

And a short-term yeah it looks like he’s doing really well. But I fear he’s not actually learning anything by doing this. Which means if there’s a mistake, for a major change that needs a happen, He’s not going to get there on his own. One time he tried to submit a merge request and I was like, there’s an obvious flaw here because this could be null and you’re not handling that. If the company ever decides that we’re not going to use co-pilot anymore, cuz I think we’re still on a trial run, He’s going to find himself right back where he started. And that’s going to hurt his career in the end.

I suggest ZeroWater. The filters don’t last as long because they have more layers, but that means they filter out more things.

Sometime in my 20s I just switched to water only. It wasn’t even a conscious decision really. Wasn’t like one day I woke up and was like I’m just going to drink water now. Just one day I’d realize that you have been like 2 years since I drank any soft drink. So I tried drinking some Dr pepper which I loved. It was disgusting. I had someone try to see if there was something wrong with it and they said it tasted perfectly normal. And it’s been that way for a long time now. I’ve tried little sips of new soft drinks that have come out that my friends like… And none of them taste good to me. Just room temp water, perfect.

I used to use mio to add a little flavor every now and then, but switch to Crystal light. I found the flavors to be more consistently good.
