Sounds like the idea of “belief” is just being accepted as a religious or spiritual idea. Beliefs are the cornerstone because it’s a tool we use every single day.

At the center of how we think is the fundamental idea of The Way Things Work and that comes down to how we believe the physical things around us will act and react. Just about everyone will start making a choice by comparing what we know to be real or true for ourselves and the things around us.

That cornerstone of belief is what we use to define “real and true”. Ghosts or spirits are absolutely real and true for some people while others don’t see the same evidence.

Beliefs get the special treatment because we are a collection of our experiences and each one of us has a different way of understanding how things work.

Hard to imagine Trump would let Trump fail so badly at the border that millions of migrants are crossing? Why is Trump so bad at the border, according to Trump?

What organization? It’s literally hundreds of little echo chambers that spew variations of the same bullshit but distinct for their region, like sects of a religion. If one big organization is doing this it should be easy to point to them. Which one?

Stochastic terrorism is different from an organized civil war. These are not the actions of a united front but lone individuals who are encouraged to be violent with the people they are told to hate.

You’re right and second chances are a real thing. But she saw Trump the first time. There were families ripped apart at the border and children who are still missing today. The person she gave a second chance thought it was okay to use live fire to disperse protestors and thought the George Floyd matches were racist against him. He ignored the safety of literally everyone when he tried to ignore COVID.

She doesn’t get off easy because his bullying was known and she wasn’t paying attention. That’s the lesson of our age: pay attention or pay for it.
