At apple scale I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that giving everyone the USB 3 chip would reduce overall cost, or that apple is doing the crippling in software or firmware.

Which is the absolute minority on that regard, most people live in climates where it doesn’t get that cold.

I’ve got a long history in the FOSS community and if I banned everybody I disagreed with it’d just be me, a scratch kernel, and nano.
