It took me about 7 years to be good at my trade. I was really bad. It did not come easily. It was a nightmare, and seeing guys with less experience than me pick it up way faster than me was demolishing for my self esteem. But I kept at it, decided I was in too deep to quit and I liked it, picked up way more hours and held my head above water. Now I’m the best carpenter I know and own my own contracting company.

You can still find thrills. You just have to be more willing to take risks. I personally started exercising more, started my own construction business which is stressful and exciting, started jogging absolutely everywhere that I didn’t have to drive for. It also helps that I keep a decent float of alcohol in my system every time I don’t have to drive anywhere or be available for work. It keeps things exciting.

Seriously. Like… the thing I’m probably the most hardcore fan of is music, specifically metal, punk, and industrial. But I just cannot imagine rioting over something like a band playing a shitty live show or putting out a shitty album. I assume those would be the closest equivalence to your sports team losing. And don’t get me started on religious folk, most of them have legitimately lost their minds at this point.

Reminds me of the riots over a hockey game in Vancouver. If you riot over a sports event your city should get turned into a work camp.
