I understand that Memmy is getting a refresh (possibly a rewrite) and it sounds like it will be very serious competition.
At the moment I use both Voyager and Memmy as each have strong points.

It’s to do with a change in Lemmy (and timestamps) it applies to any instance that updates beyond 0.18.4b5 .
Until Voyager puts in a fix, it will not work with more and more instances as they update.
Yes I now have a white screen. Think it depends if you are in light or dark mode.
Noticed on the iOS app that if you Force Touch or long hold the screen a pill shape appears that you can drag around the screen as though you were dragging and dropping something.
So this is also happening with the PWA.
However, if I put my iPhone into Flight Mode then Voyager opens and doesn’t crash (but there’s no content)
So it looks like something it’s trying to display is causing it to crash.
Well this is weird. Uninstalled and re-installed. All was okay with the default Lemmy.world profile. Logged into my account and the screen goes black.
It was working fine this morning so I don’t know what could have changed ?
I’m not sure what you mean by chrome toolkits.
It sounds like you’ve confused several different things. Voyager is a progressive web app. You can think of it as a program that runs in your web browser. Whether that’s Chrome, Safari or whatever.
Where did you hear “built on elements from Chrome”?
Not sure it can be dependent on Chrome as it works on other browsers on multiple platforms.
I’m not certain, but I think this is a combination of two things. (Evidence another client gives the actual error which is timeout waiting for a slot)
The instance having difficulty coping with the API calls when busy and the API not having a graceful fallback.
I emailed him a couple of days ago (as some of the changes are also in 0.18.5 which is rolling out today)
