My view is if I have a friend with a machine or there’s a community center or something with one I’ll absolutely use it for many projects.
But since I only sew to repair my own clothes, live somewhere fairly small, and am poor, and don’t like having lots of stuff (makes evictions more devastating), I won’t get one myself.

Also worth noting this isn’t just a cognate with Arabic ʾIlāh (Allah) but also Hebrew ʾEloah/Elohim (which is the standard way hebrew speaking Jews refer to god in spiritual settings).

Same kinda but I don’t mind switching around so I never stayed on ML too long.
I think the active users per half month might be a more useful metric than total accounts because that includes all the dead accounts.
My problem is less the nerdy and niche stuff. Because there’s a lot of communities and you can subscribe to what you like.
My problem is more how there’s a lot of debate lords, arseholes, and I’m the smartest in the world types.
But I guess that’s the case on all social media. Really shits on what’s otherwise a nice experience here tho.
