Nobody actually serious thinks Hitler was a leftist. That being said, being a leftist isn’t synonymous with being a good person, or being correct. Stalin and Mao weren’t good people, but they were leftists.
Calling Hexbear users fake leftists isn’t accurate.
Certainly, at least this early. It’s fine for smaller, niche instances, but for larger instances it risks Lemmy itself.
What kind of instance is lemm.ee trying to be? One for as many people as possible, one to appeal to a niche of people, or somewhere in the middle? I joined because I thought it was more of a generalist instance a la the first example, but if it’s trying to meet somewhere in the middle or towards a niche, I don’t think it’s serving the purpose I signed up for, so I would rather find a new instance that doesn’t defederate so easily.
IP should be abolished anyways.
