So that’s what happened. I saw smoke rising earlier on the NYC_Timescape twitch stream. Figured I’d learn about it in the news eventually.

That’s obviously not what @bassturd is saying. What a ridiculous take. Protests don’t usually generate revenue for the thing they’re protesting. This is like protesting starbucks by buying starbucks coffee everyday but making them write “starbucks sucks” on your cup.

And I think comments like the above are exactly why they chose this particular image. Increased engagement of any kind is a win for them.

I tried on android with mull browser and chrome and windows with firefox and chrome. They all say my password is incorrect, but going directly to lemmy.world works fine.

And yeah I’m aware of the apollo/voyager connection, but the character specifically refers to itself as “VGER” like vger.app. That’s why I thought of star trek.

And I still can’t log into my lemmy.world account through this. Still not a big deal since I’m waiting for sync, but I don’t get it. The same credentials work everywhere else.

By the way is the name referring to a certain star trek movie?
