Are there any good ChatGPT alternatives that are not owned by a billionaire or tied to the government?

I asked on bsky about Lemmy and PixelFed, both are on OpenVibe’s radar. Whatever that means.

I would love to see a way to group communities akin to “multireddits”. So if I want a view of just my Apple related communities, for example, I can click my custom community and see only that content.

Patiently waiting for Pixelfed to get really good and stable and Flashes to launch.
