  • My take is fucked up only because we continue to ascribe reproduction as some noble, precious thing; rather than a wildly irresponsible and selfish act.

Imagine a couple is driving a truckload of garbage to dump in the ocean. They have no reason to do this except some primal instinct that tells them to, all so they can point at the pile of floating garbage afterwards and say “look, that is MY garbage”.

Now imagine on the way to the ocean, the truck loses a tire and they crash off the road next to a garbage dump, and all the garbage in their truck goes flying over the fence and into the dump.

Then these people want and expect sympathy from others because they lost their garbage. They were really looking forward to standing on the beach and watching their garbage float free into the ocean and cause more of a mess. Oh no, boo hoo, fate accidentally caused them to do the right thing.

  • Good. I gotta say, I find romance options incredibly distracting and pointless in games. BG3 was awful about this. Covered in shit, tadpole in the head, just got finished slaughtering a bunch of people and all my companions are just like “But I’m horny, please fuck me!”. You almost can’t avoid it. You basically have to be an asshole to all of them because platonic companionship apparently just doesn’t exist.

There is no need for it. It does not help nor drive the story. No game was ever improved by adding softcore porn. If you want that, may I introduce you to the internet where you can have any flavor of porn you want.

  • I have many friends in the Seattle area, which is supposedly relatively bike friendly compared to other places in the US. Of those friends, only 2 bike to commute. In the last year, both of them have gotten hit by a car and hospitalized.

I know that’s just anecdotal, but I don’t see bikes as a safe way of travel US unless there is significant change in infrastructure for them.

  • Not to mention the problems that are likely to pop up as all the planes they built over the last 5 years start to age. Systemic quality issues lead to systemic problems. I very much doubt that all these problems we’re starting to see at what should be the beginning of a plane model’s lifespan are the end of the story. Get ready for a whack-a-mole of problems coming up over the next 20 years. Doesn’t matter how much they change, it won’t undo all the lemons that have already been built.
