Although the app’s designer went and somewhat enshitified things by placing a few features under a subscription, my app for waking up is the best app I’ve ever come across.
Its called Alarmy and the free version is more than enough to make anyone wake up if they really need to.
One factor to keep in mind though, is human productivity only happens at that kind of speed if they (the citizens involved) feel like they are getting something back from the process. And Chinese disillusionment with their own economy is growing.
Google is shit, AnySoftKeyboard is what I use.
I mean, I myself was so fucking depressed that it was between the two, so literally anything that the Democrats would put up other than Biden I’m automatically going to be thrilled about. I could think of a few better options, actually quite the handful of better options than Harris, but you bet your sweet ass I’m still going to vote for her and support the ever living fuck out of her cuz fuck Trump.
If only we had a free market 🫤 (but still fuck musky husky)
Depending on the store, I, uh, know a gal that sometimes gets a few necessary things with the old five finger discount, and I don’t judge her one bit.
Rumor has it Apple is planning to announce one that works with their products. But for some reason, instead of concatenating their own brand name to it (AAAAA would sell so well) they’ve instead decided to name it “MarketMask”… typical apple
Luckily for me, I have the new AntiAdAssAdapter™, so I don’t have to worry about that kind of stuff at all. Finally! I have the time to do what I want like take my grandkids to their school performance, or sit and nod at my clearly pregnant daughter while we look over a baby crib catalogue! Thanks Quadruple A!
I think, at least for a while, in the Philippines it was legal to kill anyone on / selling drugs. Their president at the time even paid hit squads to go find people to kill.
Also, I know plenty of Texans who consider Nazi’s to be anyone of a more liberal mindset than them, and stand your ground laws are pretty robust there… Nevermind that the 2nd amendment was actually for keeping people like trump from ruling…

I’m just pointing out that the entirety of Samsung’s Android adds literally nothing of value to the user to the android experience and only serves to, at best, annoy. Not just this one particular feature.
it is, the useless annoyance is what Samsung 's Version of Android is
introducing.
Hi, I used to a lot, but lack the financial means to currently.
I started in school, and I loved it so much I had my teacher fail me twice just so I could retake it. My retakes were a mix of TA work and whatever project I felt like doing.
Since then, Ive made a few clay based projects, as well as dabbling in wooden sculpture. I’m currently unhoused, but I imagine it will again be a part of my life once I’m back on my feet.
I must’ve woken up the ghost of Steve jobs…
Also… project much?
If I had access to my own PC atm I would, as im sure there is finally a rooting method for my phone which I know own outright and I think its unlocked(?)… but that’s something I can’t do till i’m back into a stable situation. As of right now I rely too heavily on the phone to risk it.
Can we instead/alongside just actually develop software that doesn’t just take up whateber is currentlt available RAM and power???
Now if, IF, apps spent those resources on why I downloaded the app, then I’d have much less of an issue. Buuuut so much dogshit runs in the background for every fucking app, all sorts processess for gathering irrelevant telemetry, as well as aggressively live microupdates of information that I do not require a near-live accuracy of.
If software assumed it was being designed and ran with the lunar program approach (only what the desired need requires in a fair amount of time), we would get so much life out of everything…
Fuck capitalism. Also, what a hard failure and shortsighted approach it is, when I would pay significantly more for apps and hardware itself if everthing from the OS to front facing UI was conservative in its resource drain, or at least had a true custom setting that actually did that. I mean I would at least pay more than they currently make by serving me ads based on all the bullshit.
For those who thought this was a serious question:
No
When it comes to news, I already know that very few possible events would have facts that were notable enough to change how I feel overall about the topic/event.
But, since I intentionally consume way less news than I used to, other than some Jon or John clips, I read my news.
Any fact finding I end up doing it just a hodgepodge of finding what I can through search, relying on primary sources where possible obviously.
So, when it comes to news, reddit was, and Lemmy is the place I go to be aware of events that I’d see if I watched legacy media / social media. And to just vent and maybe learn something.
I’m a title only kind of gal these days. Anything more, and I’d end up as a headline myself in short time.
JD would just end up putting the jar between some couch cushions…
