For all his might and power, he very much brought that on himself.

Me and my SO bought our house 15 years ago. Add to that she was a shrewd negotiator who pitted a few banks’ offers against each other for an even lower rate.
Yet even back then, the only way we were able to put down a down payment for a modest house in a modest environment was because both my and her parents had saved something up and were willing to do this for us. If we’d been kicked out at 18 with no kind of support we’d still be renting today, no doubt.
So I can definitely appreciate that we were among the lucky ones, and even back then it was already hard. My heart bleeds for young people today, especially knowing it’ll get a whole lot worse before it ever gets better, IF it ever does…

Oh absolutely. I’m not conceited enough to imagine Valve is developing games for me or that I’m entitled to anything. Just venting my personal disappointment with their choice. I still consider them the cream of the crop in game and hardware development.
Whatever it ends up being, I’m not interested. Never cared for competitive gaming. Sad that Valve has decided to use part of their enormous talent pool for, well, this while almost any genre would’ve been better.
Also, this is already a highly saturated niche. I don’t doubt Valve’s technical prowess and knowhow to develop a game that can surpass all the other ones in quality, but a gilded turd is still a turd under that gold leaf, even if it’s technically the best turd in the world.

I love spicy food, but as you said, only to a degree. The “spicy” part of the equation consists of both taste and the influence on your mouth’s temperature sensors. If the latter is hyperactive due to capsacain flavor goes out the window, at which point the food is no longer palatable to me.

Wow, that’s somehow the opposite of my experience. I need dreams to fully relax and enjoy a good night’s sleep. Even though I regularly have “nightmares” to the point of sweating right through my pj’s AND my covers, after I wake up it feels only as if I watched an actual decent horror movie. Dreamless nights always result in me feeling only half-rested.
