Can we just pretend that Twitter no longer exists?
All that Elon Musk still tries here is how far he has to go until Twitter finally collapses.

Good points. I would add that Google has a serious scam problem with their “ads” system. On YouTube I regularly get silly ads like “you won this big box of samples, just fill out our form with your personal data” or that silly app that claims it makes my phone flashlight project video onto walls.
I, myself, don’t trust anything advertised by Google.
I really like the JBL speakers. The “Go” is pretty impressive for its size and price. But the “Charge” really rocks. Easily runs for a whole evening AND night with one charge and has great base.
Google sees that their business is at risk.
Primarily Google is an advertisement company. And so their top priority is to profile you to serve you targeted ads. Every single product of Google has this number one priority.
So how does Google know my address? I don’t have it in my Google profile.
So Google will add a new form to my profile where I can enter all the information I want to be notified about? Full address, all my phone numbers, just to be sure my credit card number, …
And this will totally not be used for other purposes.
It will be difficult to get around this on smartphones. Those are walled gardens already.
But I wonder how Google plans to make this “feature” for desktop PCs? Won’t work at all on Linux and Mac and requires a kernel level always on spy driver to watch the Chrome process to prevent tampering with it?
The problem is that Google is able to more or less dictate how the web works at that time. Apart from Firefox and Safari, which both only have a minor market share, pretty much everything is Chrome based.
If Google wants to push some silly idea just to ensure that their silly ads are not blocked, then they’ll do it. I fear that noone really can stop this stupid idea.
Maybe they still run on “new old stock” bulbs until they are used up. But even if they do, they clearly didn’t do the math. I’ve upgraded all my lighting to LED and binned all my incandescent stock.
The U.S. is pretty late with this, compared to the European Union. Only a few special bulbs are still sold here. Apart from that, the only allowed lighting technology is LED.
I have a few kbin communities subscribed from Lemmy and interaction works fine.
If you don’t use the webinterface a lot, it probably doesn’t matter which one of the two you are using.
Interesting. Did not know about ChimeraOS. But can I get a ROG Ally without paying for a Windows license?
All the alternatives are advertised to be shipped with Windows only and so not interesting to me. Probably this is interesting for a lot of potential customers but I don’t want Windows on any device that I own.
That’s true. But even if the railway service in Germany would be improved a lot, I still have around 10 kilometers from my home to the next train station.
I actually want more technology in my car. Please make the fully autonomous driving car a reality. Would love to have the flexibility of a car without having to drive on my own.
Forget about it. With all these nasty LLM stuff companies take it as granted that they can steal everything and everywhere.
Actually it would be better if more people would start to do so, ignoring that it gets censored. If the whole thing ends with just an empty canvas would be way better than giving up now.
Sorry for the spam. Jerboa needs a longer timeout before giving up without letting me know if my comment went out 😔
Do these still work for anyone?
