Perhaps. I think it is much more likely that Thiel & Musk attempt to wait Trump’s death out and then install Vance, which will ultimately be the crescendo that causes large scale civil unrest because everybody fucking hates him.

“Every accusation is an admission” and whatnot…
To be clear, I agree with you. I was being hyperbolic about the “rule forever” part because nothing last forever.
However, I think they are drunk enough on their own power to believe they can outlast all of us, and it remains to be seen, in the short term, whether they are right…
The strategy is really simple, and I don’t know why it isn’t obvious to everyone. The Republican party will simply refuse to run a candidate in 2028. They will claim that the country is under hostile occupation by Marxists who are attempting to destroy the United States from within and Trump will just refuse to leave office after the mid-terms (if we even make it that far before he declares war & martial law).
They don’t need to cancel, manipulate, or legally challenge anything. At that point, it doesn’t fucking matter what happens with the election because there is no legal mechanism to enforce the removal of the regime. They are going to dare the courts, the police, and the military to try and forcibly remove them, which we all know will not happen. Then just rule by fiat forever.
The End.

I have no sympathy for any of them, and neither should anyone else. The choices they have made will result in the suffering of millions. Whatever fate they ultimately meet will proportionally be infinitely merciful by comparison. They do not get some special dispensation for being naive.
It is possible to be both immature and abjectly evil. That is, most likely why Musk picked these young men. They have the hallmarks of sociopathic tendencies with the inexperience to be led into a fucking minefield. Here is hoping they trigger some explosions that don’t take a billion of us with them.
They will have removed no fault divorce across a number of Republican states within the next four years, and none of those states will be investigating rape allegations inside a legal marriage.
I guess I didn’t really explain my thought process very effectively from the beginning. That was my fault.
I totally agree that no solution is going to be simple. I think what I envisioned was an inter-state compact where it would make it essentially impossible for medical providers to pull away. If we just use the West Coast as an example, what if Washington, Oregon, and California were to create a public option risk pool that could then be joined by other blue states? That is really the idea that I think is the most sensible, and potentially feasible to implement over time.
Yes, but you could say the exact same thing about the creation of single payer state insurance pools could you not? They can force negotiations on medical providers at the state level, and force them to accept state backed insurance if they wish to conduct business in that state. That seems like a way simpler solution than needing to come up with massive amounts of logistical infrastructure that already exists.
This is an interesting idea, but I don’t see where that is ever going to be effective either given the massive logistical undertaking that would be required in order to deal with states managing non-profit medical facilities. The only option is to somehow circumvent the middle men.
That is why universal healthcare risk pools need to start at the state level. The goal needs to be to lock out the subsidization of those who are voting for predatory policies. This accomplishes a few important things.
It will systemically punish Republican voters in Republican led states.
Over time it will (in theory) massively shift the public consciousness in those areas around how badly they are getting fucked.
It removes the necessity of reliance on a federal change in order to begin the process of legislative reform.
This is obviously not a perfect solution, but I don’t see this happening in any other way. There is roughly a (0%) chance we see universal healthcare implemented at the national level first.
That would literally be the single funniest thing that has ever happened in the history of mankind.
This has been my thought lately as well. Donald Trump is simply a convenient means to an end. He is so ignorant and narcissistic that he will never see it coming when he is eventually given the Julius Caesar treatment by the techno-fascists.
The real oligarchy that is actually wealthy instead of pretend wealthy is chomping at the bit to get in the big chair permanently. Now that there is ample precedent with multiple assassination attempts on Donald Trump’s life, all they need to do is have him assassinated for real, declare martial law as you said, and then install their chosen dictator as the public lever puller.
They can blame this on whatever patsy is most convenient to allow them to swiftly tighten controls on an unsuspecting public. The ironic part being that in a twisted turn of fate, we may eventually end up in a situation where some of the people who got deported turn out to be the lucky ones. As Aimé Césaire warned, fascism is colonialism turned inwards, and whatnot…
So are we going with Lem-stralia, Lem-Rok Nor, or Lem-giers as our colony name?
You have just described how every evangelical infantalizes “God’s” will. These are learned psychological frameworks that are being copy pasted between different control vectors at will at this point.
I am serious when I say there is no conceivable way to deprogram and reprogram the vast majority of them. The goal needs to be a total social and economic embargo. Completely exclude them from our lives in any way possible.
Not to be annoying, but can someone please ELI5 how kernel level anti-cheat software actually works, or link good resources where I can read about it.
I really think it all boils down to the regressive thought prison that permeates religious culture, and anything that is adjacent to it. Asmongold himself has stated on many occasions that he was raised in a Roman Catholic environment even though he personally rebelled against it.
However, when everyone you are around in society still uses the same flawed logic pathways, lacks critical thinking skills, and perpetuates the hegemonic in-group dynamics that surround that religious world-view you are still personally psychologically affected by it even if you don’t subscribe to the religious component of it.
That’s the even more nefarious, pernicious, and hidden damage caused by promulgating religious culture is that it makes being willfully ignorant not only permissable, but REQUIRED in order to conform to the group identity. I can see how that influence has literally broken his brain in ways he appears to not even be consciously aware of yet.
We’ll see if this wakes him up, or drives him further into his echo-chamber in an attempt to avoid the painful process of overcoming cognitive dissonance. Only time will tell, but I will admit the deck is stacked against him when he has such a massive financial incentive to resist developing a more mature, nuanced worldview.
Personally I think he actually wants to be a decent person deep down, but the environment he built for himself has led to a self-reinforcing manifestation of the macro-scale social problems that are plaguing young men in this generation. For that reason I don’t hate Asmongold because I believe he is still reachable, and has the opportunity to have a moral arc that could potentially help a lot of people if he was willing to do the work of real self-actualization.
