Full stack developer and privacy advocate. I like to keep the mentality, if you can program one language well, then you can program in any language!

Do you hear that?
That’s the sound of DMCAtendo’s lawyers marching out to ruin another fan project.
No, instead they raped his rights with some ToS…
The more I hear about Android 15,
the less excited I get for it…
Happily been using it for a few years by now.
The enhanced privacy, extension and about:config support are great features to have.
It’s not dead,
the (over)hyped period is just over.
I for one do plan on picking it up again in the near future, they added quite a bit of new content (pals, tower boss, island, oil rig, arena, raids, …) since I last played it.
*Nintendont
The lawsuit company which makes games on the side strikes again.
Wayland might be the future,
but today we’re still living in the present…
I was a fan, and tried Wayland,
but it took less then 24hrs before I switched back to X.
Just too many random bugs remain in Wayland rn…
E.g:
vomits in mouth a little
You can ditch YouTube,
without actually ditching YouTube content,
through a privacy respecting alternative frontend:
https://www.privacyguides.org/en/frontends/#youtube
My favorite ones:
Correct me if I’m wrong,
but I have been disliking Ubuntu because they use:
Correct, ChatGPT is proprietary spyware.
If the interface would support self hosted (local/offline) LLMs, then I’m sure people would be much more interested.
Citra, internal resolution x9,
and you’ve got yourself an early access to this :)
No need to pay Nintendont, the law-suit company that makes games on the side, again for a game you already bought in the past.
I guess a little inflation is good,
to prevent all money from ending up in a single party’s hands.
However that’s the only upside I could think of, other then that I fully agree with you.
Central/regional banks “printing” money, through bonds and fractional banking, is blatant stealing from people who worked / saved in the past imo. Since it leads to inflation / devaluation of the currency.
They might have been doing it for longer then I’ve been aware of.
But this is a (small) list of things that caught my attention and made me despise them:
Interesting, so in between lawsuits and takedowns they still do game related stuff from time to time huh?
One thing is certain,
due to all those lawsuits and takedowns,
I won’t be buying into their next console,
they won’t get a single dime from me anymore.
Wikiless?
The original project was taken down by Wikipedia, but this appears to be an active fork of it:
https://github.com/Metastem/wikiless
I went with Manjaro due to the way they do their package releases.
Arch is bleeding edge,
a double edged sword if you ask me,
all the latest versions,
and all the bugs that come along with them.
I’m looking for stability in my daily driver though.
Manjaro keeps releases a few weeks back on their stable branch.
And tests the releases first on their unstable and testing branches.
Resulting in near bleeding edge with enhanced stability on the stable branch.
For me the experience has been:
Which imo makes it a good distro,
idiots would not make a good distro…
Sure the people behind it made some doubtful decisions in the past, but that doesn’t change the fact that using it has been a bliss.
Additionally, it’s all open source,
so if they would ever turn anti-consumer,
it can be forked into another distro.
As I mentioned earlier, stop the distro hate.
I’m not throwing acquisitions against other distros, instead I let people enjoy whatever flavor of Linux they desire…
By now I helped a fair amount of Arch and other distro users through Lemmy / AUR / Issues, and I also learned a fair amount of Arch / Manjaro and other distro users.
Linux is not the enemy here,
not a single flavor…
Look it up on PCGamingWiki,
they usually list all configuration + compatibility changes that need to be tweaked:
