Problem is that the morality taught by Christianity, and most other large organized religions, is extremely outdated and has spent many hundreds of years being corrupted by those in power to oppress others. I mean these people literally believe that God will punish our entire society if we don’t eradicate LGBTQ groups. I actually think these people would be much more tolerant of others if they had never encountered organized religion and just learned to coexist with others organically.
Wow good for UPS workers. As a tech worker I can say I’m genuinely happy for them. They have a hard ass job. A win for labor is a win for labor, regardless of which type.
Same with competitive sports. As a tennis player, if I lose a match I’m usually doubly motivated to get back out there for another one.
Yup that is a real rough pill to swallow when the default is free AND no ads. If I’m going to drop money on lemmy I’d rather just donate to whoever is hosting my instance.
Communities in California could also just let people build more housing, but God forbid the poors move into my neighborhood.
About 14 years or so for me. Was starting to get a bit bored of that place anyway. I’ve been enjoying Lemmy a lot so far.
While this would make a big statement, the real victims would be innocent teenagers. Arguably we should be doing the opposite and trying to get as many of them out of that state as possible.
But then you have to change accounts, which I understand isn’t difficult, though it’s still something that needs to be done proactively by the user. Would be nice to just have a better content ranking algorithm that gives smaller communities a chance.
Dayumn gotta get me some Lemmy plat to be a big baller.
$100k avg salary for a New York tech company? The lowest level employees there almost certainly make well above that. If we’re talking avg salary it’s probably at least $200k.
Appears that this doesn’t include July numbers. I think most of the people leaving Reddit, myself included, didn’t do it until our 3rd party apps actually got killed on July 1st. Will be interesting to see these numbers at the end of the month.
btw the spaces in the links provided by OP effectively break the links if you’re not based on the community’s home server. Would be really great to get this updated.
Fuck Reddit. First Lemmy post let’s go!!!
It’s terrifying how similar the Trump playbook is to that of a cult leader. Convincing someone that they must trust you over their family and friends is step one to getting them isolated and exploitable.
