Mostly its this way because the language has evolved over time and relies heavily on several similar but competing interpretations of how things should be done. Similar thing happened to PHP, back in the web1 days.

I think they might have used AGI to mean “AI Generated Images” which I’ve seen used in a few places, not know that AGI is already a term in the AI lexicon.

Been doing this for years, but if too much of a hack for you, NewPipe also supports background video, and downloading video, or just the audio, which is great if you have a lot of long form audio-focused channels like music reviews, videoessay content, etc.

I hate to break it to you but you don’t really “own” the games on steam either. You have a license agreement with valve which they can revoke at any time, and you lose access to the games you paid for.

That’s a pretty common turn-of-phrase in Ireland, I remember hearing it in the early 90s!, and it’s still common to hear it from older generations too. I wouldn’t equate it with reddit slang/culture at all. I wonder when it made its way to reddit?

I get that, sometimes it can feel like “why am I even bothering to write a big long comment” but there’s no need to apologise for it. Not everything we say or write has to be profound, sometimes people just want to share a story!

And I feel your pain as well, I had a similar issue updating mine after leaving it sit for about a year, but I very, very stupidly decided to do it on a Friday morning, on my work machine, on the same some code was due to be delivered. So I had a frantic Friday trying to fix my PC and get the work done!
