They just up their premiums in high risk areas and fight paying out after events. Just another broken part of the system.

Although being disconnected from the national grid is a problem. This isn’t the problem this time.

This was poor preparation and response by the city and power company. We haven’t had proper tree trimming around power lines and there weren’t repair crews staged for this. Not to mention trees dying off from extreme heat/cold then being blown down.

A buried explosive will still have a non-zero chance of detonating.

For me I think it depends on insider ownership. If the management and developers are holding reasonable stakes then it encourages putting out a product that is profitable… I convinced myself out of it, profitable doesn’t always mean good.

What makes these better than hydro flask or yeti? Or their ripoffs?
