My journey started with 1 server, then 4, then 5 (one functioning as a NAS), then 1 (just the NAS box), then I moved and decided to slim it down to a proper NAS and 1 mini PC/NUC clone. Now I’m up to two because the first was an Intel N105 which just isn’t up for the challenges lol

My employer still has an IT team, and I don’t think it’s going anywhere. We are migrating to “the cloud” but it’s slow and mainly a compliance thing so we can go global and house customer data local to them. They’re looking for a strong sysadmin / database admin role if you’re in the Atlanta area.

Last time I tried to migrate to Podman the first container I tried was incompatible, so was the second, and the third. Turns out at the time Linuxservers.io stuff wasn’t rootless podman compatible. There have since been some improvement according to my most recent Google search just now, so maybe a retry is coming up.

It has Platinum in ProtonDB for now. Definitely appears to be playable on Linux.

While I’ve never directly used them I’ve definitely seen content hosted by them. I’ve also seen CSAM promptly removed by them (I work for a hosting provider and occasionally will forward a report their way). I’ll drop them some mons.

Another reason I’m happy with SDR is because I run two monitors and the second doesn’t support HDR. So it provides a consistent look.

As for recording - really just limited to when I play games like Lethal Company with friends. Just to clip the goofs. Have a whole shitton of them.

I’m not running an OLED but my monitor is HDR capable and I prefer the look, however I don’t run it in HDR mode. Reason being, it fucks with my OBS recordings and I have to up the quality significantly for them to be usable, which ups the storage requirements.

The gameplay looks fine. It looks like a Doom game. But I won’t buy a game with DRM, so I won’t be buying it until that gets removed (at earliest).

I modded Cyberpunk 2078 and jumped straight to the NNM app, no issues. Running quite a few mods.

In getting mixed vibes. It feels like it’s people with no relationship prospects (for whatever reason, and I can attest to this as one of them) who might tend toward the “2d girls > 3d girls” crowd getting a harsh reminder. That and the music.

I switched at the start of the month, with the uncertainty around the economy I finally did my PC upgrade I’d been procrastinating, and - why get a windows license? Just go Linux.

I know this is satire but it does hurt. Though in my experience my most concerning code reviews are when I review other senior devs code. Unfortunately my company decided senior devs were a tenure thing.

If you don’t want to disable biometric auth, familiarize yourself with your phone and see if it has lockdown mode. Apple phones and most modern Android phones support it, using it will require your password / pin for unlocks. Put it into lockdown mode for the flight.

I find no discouragement of strategy in the game. Higher numbers don’t always win, unless they’re sufficiently high enough. I can design a fleet with weapon and armor/shield focuses to counter theirs, as well as choosing the engagement style (via the combat computer modes in the ship designer) to counter theirs.

If I don’t want to strategize I can simply wait longer for a bigger fleet and newer tech, but if I want to take on enemies larger than me, especially early game, I have to take the time to strategize.

If I’m using Bluetooth earbuds I can receive a call from Signal or WhatsApp. So it stands to reason it’s possible a Bluetooth device exists to act like earbuds but for a landline phone. I found a few (cell2jack and XLink BT HD) but could not verify if they’d work for anything other than normal phone calls.
