Lmao, right? Yet as an enjoyer of seeing road design and engineering, I’m unsure how they’d properly solve the issue without building four more bridges right there to weave the traffic more elegantly. Just too much stuff in one cramped location.

I’ll add a +1 to Battleblock Theater! Such a well done game that can be true co-op or “co-op with shenanigans” if that’s more your vibe. The story is entertaining and lighthearted and the levels introduce new mechanics throughout.

It’s a very valid question and I think it comes down to an individual’s situation and circumstances. Not many can afford to actually leave or have family, friends, other ties to their home that they cannot emotionally afford to leave. Others struggle in how they can support efforts to fight for their rights or simply don’t have the physical or emotional reserves to make such a fight. I think the only truly ethically irresponsible answer would be to do the opposite that you are able and willing to do. I could never judge someone for leaving or for staying; it’s not really a mark of their character.

I’ve been using porkbun for a few years now and it’s been cheap, simple, and easy to use.

I’m not sure I understand the need for charging to play media on a private server when not on the local network. Why is this no longer going to be free? I’m glad I bought a lifetime pass many many years back but I definitely wouldn’t pay for Plex nowadays with alternatives being comparable. What a silly choice they made~

I’ve only been playing the past handful of games but it’s a fun daily puzzle. I find it interesting that I either get sub 5 minute times or over 50 minute times. Lol

They have a few plans, but the cheapest is $5/mo. If you go past the allotted searches it’s pay per search after that (at a very tiny cost).

I switched to DDG when Google started adding cards at the bottom of the first page and made search results utterly useless for me. DDG wasn’t bad but it still felt like something was missing or some results were flooded by a specific site. Kagi went the extra step to group results from a site sorta like how Google has.

Ultimately it’s the benefits of old Google but some nice refinements and QoL improvements. Because it’s paid for, they don’t need to sell your data or shove paid for results down your throat.

I was informed about Kagi through one of the posts here and tried it out. It’s quite amazing how much better it is compared to even DDG. I didn’t mind DDG but it felt “old” but Kagi seems to prioritize user experience over everything else. It may not be free, but it’s worth the cost for me.

Another vote for Porkbun here. I switched after Google Domains shared they were selling off to Squarespace. It’s been a lovely experience and their website just seems more human than the other big players. Cloudflare isn’t a terrible alternative option as long as you’ll be using their DNS.

It’s a mobile game, but Sandship kinda checks all those boxes.

I’ve been describing this as if Animal Crossing had an MMO. It’s cute, cartoony, and cozy/relaxing. It has all of the typical MMO activities but a very heavy focus on house building and customization. The fishing mini game is decent to not get too boring and the cooking skills are a fun mix of different mini games. Overall it’s a nice balance of freshness and QoL improvements for a nice chill gaming session. I’m excited to see where jt goes after launch!

It’s only cosmetics. It’s just getting to beta but they have a decent start to the store for clothing items for purchase. Doesn’t seem to be a terrible way at all. Aside from the tutorial mission about it, you could simply never interact with the storefront ever again.

It is so much an “Animal Crossing, the MMO” type of game. I’ve been having a blast in the closed beta. The house building aspect is surely what op is looking for. So many little details one can build out!

I love that I learned about Google Domains being shut down from a Lemmy comment~ I was debating moving those away from Google anyway. Has anyone else already done research and narrowed down the list of decent registrars worth using?

Wait, we’re losing our grandfathered pricing?! Bummer. I guess I’ll give Tidal another shot. Their service was nice and I like that they pay the artist the most compared to the other popular platforms. I didn’t like their “radios”/auto playlists but maybe they’ve upgraded their algorithms since three years ago.

The class keyword exists for a reason and it has a perfectly fine use case when you need to make use of creating new objects. I think it may be disliked because people come over from Java assuming you need to define everything as objects/classes when we have modules and other methods of doing the same thing with a little bit less clutter. I recommend reading up on the underlying functionality and how classes and objects work compared to modules.
