On the other hand, if you told me 8 years ago that a former president would be charged with racketeering, I don’t know who wouldn’t be surprised.
While it is exciting, I can see both sides of the argument here. The infrastructure here in the US is built around cars so it would be much less effort to automate the existing infrastructure. On the other hand, things could be so much more efficient if we focused on trains and other public transport that excels at transporting a large amount of people. But that would take so much more effort and money to update the infrastructure.
The more exposure the better (for better or worse). As the fediverse grows we gotta watch for the growing pains of becoming a large social media platform.
Sweet, looking forward to watching Gravity again.

This is cool though. But NASA+ just sounds like they are copying Disney+.
This goes for anyone in the fediverse, not just lemmy users. I am on kbin which may not have as much options as lemmy to migrate to, but I will also be looking out for instances that match my interests more.
Honestly as well meaning affirmative action is meant to be, it’s arguably targeting the wrong thing, which rather than admitting based on race, it should be based on class. True diversity comes from people from different lifestyles, regardless of race, instead of all from the elite.
Good advice! I would argue the only downside is having to maintain your own email server. But that comes with the territory I guess. Any low-cost server hosting to consider?

This is where the system of Favorite and Reduce comes in. Same concept on Reddit with upvotes and downvotes. Hopefully the community will help to filter out the noise, but again, history tends to repeat itself.
Recently switched from KeepassXC to Bitwarden because of the cloud hosting ability (I was tired of having to sync my database file everywhere) and have no problems so far. I see Bitwarden recommended a lot, especially from places like privacyguides
So did lemmy win? Did kbin win? The crossposting makes me wonder which platform I should be moving over to, but both are in the Fediverse so I also wonder if we should all just refer to it as fedi or something…
I read the title wrong and missed the last word, phew.
