XML sucks- gradle was a groovy DSL which was very concise and easy, it was quite nice!

I wrote Java and jvm languages for a long time. Mostly a good experience. Maven and later gradle, groovy and spring boot really made it more fun to use. Spock is still my favorite testing framework. These days it’s all python and node for me though- but using those languages and their popular libs really shows how much better dependency management and testing was in the Java ecosystem even 10 years ago.

this headline is disingenuous. There are so many other things going on here:

• step dad and 2 much younger siblings. This kid was probably stressed out with new younger half sibs needing a lot of attention
• gun without a lock stored with ammo in an accessible place
• florida
• Christian prep school. Those kids either believe anything is real or are so hopelessly depressed they get into drugs
• parents are both lawyers. Talk about a high stress time consuming job that probably leaves little time for the three kids

Jellyfin have native apps that are any good? I use plex heavily on ps5, appleTV, iOS, and people’s random smart TVs, all of which have really good first class apps. I also support users that are not technically inclined, so they would need to be able to just install and app and log in.

I get the money argument. In that case, get the one that does more for you now now, and save up for the other one later. You don’t need them all at once.

I waited a year before getting the first switch, and almost 2 years for a ps4. I think I waited at least a year for all the other PlayStations too save the 5.

Getting something at launch isn’t all that great- bugs, limited games, max prices, etc… a year or so later and you get bundles and deals and lots of game choices.

I don’t have a deck- but a few of my friends do and I’ve played with it a bit- it’s great and I want one at some point, but I can wait for #2 to come out and then go on sale before I dive in.
