I think there is some blame to passed onto for-profit hospital conglomerates. They degrade care to drive down costs to maximize profits. They force doctors to do min-maxing and game theory shit to get bonuses that don’t actually help the patients.

I agree that insurance companies are the biggest issue, but let’s not absolve the big hospital corporations.

10 years before COVID I had to change primary care doctors because he was scheduled 3 months out. It got way worse after COVID, but the argument about long wait times was always overblown.

Anesthesiologists base pay ranges from $350k to $550k. I don’t think most of them are having problems paying back $200k in student loans.

What I don’t understand is why Americans are still looking to the federal government to solve the issue, instead of getting together and building a non profit co-op to deal with health care.

The difference is what we KNOW about each accused person. In one case we have quotes from the person himself admitting to sexual assault multiple times, along with dozens of accusations over time. In the other case we have no other accusations over a 30 year career in the industry from a person who doesn’t do anything to get headlines (unlike Kanye or Diddy) outside of make music. That doesn’t mean the other person hasn’t done bad things, but we know of absolutely no other instances. The person you’re replying to said they wouldn’t be surprised that the guy who admitted on tape of sexually assaulting women had raped a woman, and you’re complaining that they are hesitant to condemn a person of something extremely heinous with no evidence or previous examples of bad behavior?

Oh god, the PvP ranking bullshit grind. Yeah, you almost had to account share to get the top ranks. Back in Vanilla, two of my IRL buddies did the HWL grind. It was different from the Arena rankings grind, but still brutal. The last 3 weeks were nearly 24/7 to move up, and that’s only because we had an organized server that had a list of who was next in line to get HWL and enforced weekly caps to make sure someone didn’t grind 24/7 and miss a rank.
