Games also sell at a much higher volume than they did back then.
Wages have also not kept up with inflation, which is why games at over 100$ would be out of reach as a casual hobby for most.
Looks just like SledStorm. Another ps1 sledding game
Grand prix story and game dev tycoon.
Both good games, low stress, clear progression
Yeah i know. I meant more in terms of peope who don’t know the way these two are connected.
Atari has had some very sketchy business practices and screwed over consumers a bunch of times. Most people don’t know they are effectively the same company as infogrames
Guess they ran their brand too far into the ground. Now they gotta dig up another
I’ve been playing a ton of game dev story. To the point where now I want to try my hand at making my own simulation type game in that style

Ok. I was being hyperbolic. But clearly AA isn’t used nearly as much as “indie” is.
Sure. No one uses that term though.
Indie style game?
As inaccurate as it is to talk abojt publisher size, it is helpful to give ideas to aesthetics and budget. I find myself more interested in smaller games like this, so I pay special attention when the term “indie” is used, even if it’s from a big publisher (child of light is another good example)
I downloaded unreal, opened it, got overwhelmed and un-installed it.
Pretty happy with godot so far
