- Swear that one day you’ll build Linux from scratch to learn. Never do it.
This bear don’t care
They need to be reminded how easy it is to pirate video content.
Managerial and administrative roles are there to fill a purpose.
As someone who is personally suffering from working under poor management, these roles have tremendous effect. If managers are to strike, workers can make do without them longer than the opposite, I agree with that.
The ownership of the profits is a different matter altogether and is a very viable and worthy discussion.
Same with banks. Money isn’t evil, it is manipulated to exploit and enslave most of the people.
I think these problems can be solved via legislation that has socialist characteristics.
Exactly what Fabio said. Thank you.
I couldn’t help but think of Hegel’s saying about how the master needs the slave, not the other way around, because a master is nothing without slaves, and a slave without a master is a person.
Not verbatim, surely, but the gist of that quote is here.
I imagine Hegel was inspired by gobshites like this. Marx too.
Really? Hmm… yet another excuse to move away from Ubuntu. I’ll take it up with my manager.
Cheers!
I’ve had several freedesktop issues with dbus, certain black screen crashes on desktops that require deleting .kde and other such annoyances.
Nothing major, just recurring issues.
This is from a 100-150 client environment.
Previous workplace was smaller but used gnome. Had more pebcak than actual issues.
Plasma isn’t stable, gnome isn’t flexible and xfce is both stable and flexible, but no Wayland. Yet.
I see it more like this:
Linux is like Democracy. There are plenty of people in it, sometimes it can be a hot messbut when it works and handled by professionals it is the best thing there is.
The rest are dictatorships. You get what they give, you do what they allow, you can change what they decide, and you pay for everything you do.
The more I learn, the bigger the abyss becomes. I will never master Linux. I will, at best, learn some of the currents and how to sail them safely.
Username checks out with that pun.
Is it just me, or does the EU legislators actually care about their citizens?
Any EU citizens that can confirm?
I’m counting on LLMs to provide tier 1 support eventually.
Around 2020 I ditched Windows for good, got me a high end AMD gaming rig, installed Ubuntu, regretted it, moved to Manjaro and been happy ever since.
Animal experimentation should always be the last option, but an option nonetheless.
Unless you’re talking cosmetics or some other meaningless bullshit.
