The Internet is a massive force multiplier. This is why groups like the heritage foundation works to research how best to utilize it. They don’t focus their people on public protests or half the shit the left does.

That’s my point: the left doesn’t have the equivalent of groups like the Heritage Foundation to figure out how to do that force multiplication. It takes resources to do that, and the only people supplying the resources are doing so in service of capital, not against it.

Just think for a minute how many people have shown up to protests across the country for the past 10 years. Think of what they could accomplish if they instead created content like this.

A protestor and a trained think-tank analyist who does propaganda as their full-time job are not interchangable. You can’t just tell protestors to create content like the right-wing bot farmers instead; they don’t have the skillset for it. They also don’t control the platforms like Murdoch, Zuckerberg and Musk do, for that matter. There are many, many strategies that make right-wing propaganda is so effective that left-wingers simply cannot replicate without a fuckton of money, no matter how much unskilled volunteer labor they have.

It answered the question he originally replied to, which seems like a pretty reasonable response that charitably assumed you just didn’t understand him the first time, instead of attacking him (for an offense you ascribed to him “implying” and that he didn’t actually say) as you were actually trying to do.

I’m missing something about ohulancutash’s comments. Everybody’s piling on the downvotes, but I’m can’t find the part where he made any sort of ‘asinine “overstaying in the country” point’ in the first place. He didn’t even use the word “overstay,” just “stay.” Moreover, the answer he gave about how it’s not so easy as the band deciding to “just do the European tour and then stay in Europe” because immigration laws are thing is correct.

In the MMO I play, my account shared bank is at the currency cap, my main can crush any elite content I throw at it, and I mostly only log in to do the bare minimum daily thing because of FOMO for event rewards. The only times I actually really play anymore are for the summer vacation and winter holiday events.

In real life, not so much.

More like F-Droid cares about things like reproducible builds and other best practices, and sloppy upstream projects sometimes have a problem coping. But as I understand it that’s typically the upstream developers’ problem, not F-Droid’s.

I actually like that the F-Droid maintainers check over the apps and warn about anti-features/stop offering new versions if they enshittify.
