Don’t give me hope
Uh, a bidet?
He was very sick for a bit and hid it for awhile so there was lots of talk about his health for a bit then he disappeared from the public eye for awhile because he was fighting cancer and recovering. He never rejoined the public eye to the degree he used to be. He was in Top Gun Maverick though which I remember being kind of a big deal because he hadn’t been in much for awhile and of course had had lots of trouble with speech following the cancer I believe.
There’s a reason an insane number of the people who publicly attack pedophillia are in fact pedophiles.
More of an altitude issue tbh
Unprofessional human drivers (yes, even you) are unbelievably bad at driving, it’s only a matter of time, but call me when you can do it without just moving labor done by decently paid locals to labor done remotely in the third world.
Alaska isn’t even a non-shitty option to be clear. They have a storied history of cost-cutting at the expense of safety. They just seem to be reliably the least shitty.
Delta is like the fucking Target of air travel I swear. They’re still a shitty mega corporation but it’s where you pay a tiny bit extra to not use Walmart/United
I’m US based, I only fly Air Alaska basically but obviously I live in the Northwest. There’s a fallacy though that “oh, ethical consumption is impossible therefore it doesn’t matter.” Just because it’s a choice between Delta, AA and United, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still pick the slightly less shit option and fly Delta.
Non-North America based if possible, Air Alaska group if not IMO, Southwest used to be a decent option but not since the hedge fund took over. Might be other choices if you’re East Coast based. Might be CA options better than Air Canada that I’m unfamiliar with too.
Everyone keeps flying on United despite a million stories happening to “other people” but it won’t happen to them. Fucking honestly I’m running out of sympathy for people who give their money to profoundly shitty companies and then are shocked when they’re treated badly.
Was milk of the poppy not obviously literally opium (unrefined morphine)?
Cyanide is legendarily fast acting. Among the fastest known poisons.
Thallium was pretty famous for this until its mechanism of toxicity and antidotes were better understood. Slow acting, tasteless, odorless, colorless, symptoms weird and mimic other things. Used to be used for rat poison but the risk of accidental exposure was too high. Requires late 1800s technology.
Isn’t that more of a “from them we come and to them we will return” thing than literally them being a type of tree?
I fixed this ages ago, I am pointing out that it’s unacceptable from a UX standpoint. And it was in the last year for the record, this definitely wasn’t just a fully solved issue years ago.
Which is great for the people who have the time to invest to know how to use a computer via the terminal, I used to be one of those people, now I have had various full time jobs that don’t use computers for nearly a decade since then though and I don’t want to do much with terminal anymore (it took me like 10 minutes to remember ‘top’) It’s hard to take a polished, user friendly OS seriously when I couldn’t access the NTFS windows backup partition on my laptop without using terminal, because they needed elevated permissions to see because they were, naturallly, created by another user. I legitimately couldn’t just open the file manager as root to copy and paste my files into the new root partition without thinking about it. Ridiculous hand holding clunkiness.
You’ve given me instructions that require terminal use, your argument is invalid. If it doesn’t either work out of the box or is immediately fixable without going into the terminal, then it’s not ready yet.
They want to privatize the post office but make TikTok government owned… JFC…
