  • Well, it sounds like you’re going after women out if your league because you think they’re attractive and that’s a valid choice. But it is a choice you’re making. It sounds like you could have intimacy if you lowered your standards or increased you attractiveness (gym etc). Or you could abandon dating to not have to face rejections.

So I think the key to avoid bitterness is to reevaluate if the choice you are making still works for you if it brings up bitterness. Then you can either stay with your choice or switch, if you don’t think any other option brings less negative feelings.

And if you choose the best option for you, there’s no need for bitterness.

  • For me it’s the lack of interesting communities to browse. Everything active seems to be about, Linux, programming, politics, Star Trek or anime. Some midtier memes. That’s basically a list of subreddits I had blocked on reddit. And it’s all that exists here.

Edit: I just counted. I’m subscribed to 179 communities. In the first 50 posts on my subscribed feed (basically 2 days worth of content), there are 7 communities featured. The first post that does not mention above topics and isn’t a meme is post no 15. In total, there are 4 posts in the first 50 posts that do not mention any of those topics. 2 of those are interesting to me. That’s just not a good enough ratio.

  • I think you might have a misunderstanding about how tax brackets work (at least if you’re taking about american federal income taxes). Progressive tax rates mean that only the income that is over the threshold for the new tax bracket gets taxes with the higher %. So if you are $1 over the limlt for a new tax bracket, only that dollar gets taxed with the higher percentage. You can read about this anywhere, this is just the first source I found.

So, I don’t see how this example still applies here. But after some reading, apparently the prosecution got some new information after the plea deal, so the asked for 9 years, and the judge compromised on 8.5. That’s at least what this article implies.

Pazienza’s plea agreement called for an eight-year sentence but prosecutors asked for nine years based on new information contained in a presentence report, a spokesperson for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said.
