  • Murena ? as the murena foundation that develop /e/OS ? If yes, their OS is based on LineageOS microG edition with a great ad/tracker blocker and an app store that is kind of a fusion between the aurora store and fdroid (without the ability to add repositories unfortunately, in the version I used at least).

So you can install whatever apps you want with it(Except maybe android auto, I guess). I had my banking app and it worked well (until it detected I was root).

I used it with my oneplus 7, It had some big trouble these last months as their servers were outdated and they needed to update their whole infrastructure. Now, everything seems to be back to normal.

I can not say for their phones (murena 1 and 2), but their OS is solid to me.

  • Snaps make sens from the Ubuntu side.

Only one package to maintain for an application, even if they have different distributions to maintain. If snap is officially supported by the creator of the application, then it’s less work for Canonical. Well, it would have make more sens if flatpak didn’t exist.

From user side, it makes way less sens :

    • the closed source application shop
    • if snaps are not officially supported, then Canonical try to create one, and they may be not that great …

  • Why not ? There is so much mods that you can play new adventures, with the feeling of being at home.

The base game is full of flaws, but the community makes it really enjoyable.

The balance of skills, the graphics, even the story can be changed. That’s why I like to play it again and again. I can play a Skyrim that people built. And with the perks mod, I can build so much differents characters, I really love that.

And with skyblivion coming this year, I’m not even close to stop playing it.

  • They advert for a support between 8 and 10 years (at least 5 major version of Android, and security patches after that). I don’t know their politic about the availability of the repair parts, but if it’s for the same amount of time, I’ll be happy.

I changed the battery and the usb port of my OP7 last year… the oneplus site didn’t sell them anymore, I had to go on aliexpress to have both … That’s quite frustrating for a device that is 5 years old…

  • It has a confidentiality notation system based on exodus privacy. It makes it more visible than on the aurora store. It has the possibility to install app from fdroid, well, at least from the main repo as it is not possible to add more.

There is a high chance that they forked the aurora store, as, most (if not all) of their app are based on open source app. (but if so… why did they remove the option to uninstall app…).

Their app “maps” is just magic earth with an other name and icon.

    edit : phrasing

  • I’d rather trust an Ubuntu community repo than the snap store. At least, for pacstall, the community is able to review the package.

Since the snap store is the default store on Ubuntu , there is more chance that he will be targeted by malicious software than a community repo than has to be manually installed.
