  • I honestly think Bernie should run independent.

It’s clear Biden has no chance of rapidly changing his policy or stance on anything, meaning he will most likely lose to Trump anyway.

Even if Bernie gets only 20% of votes, it would be enough to get the DNC to split.

And no that 20% would not have been stolen from Biden. I saw Hillary’s horrendous turnout, people don’t vote when there’s not a candidate worth voting for.

    Arch Linux

Unless you’re on a good downstream like SteamOS, I’d suggest switching to something stable cutting edge (Fedora or Nobara if you want to put in zero effort).

Arch by itself will give you way the hell too many possible problems. You could waste hours on DKMS alone.

Mint will also work, but it has the downside of having slower updates to software packages.

  • I don’t get why people think this idea is equivalent to stuff like internet access bans or COPPA, it’s a warning label, not an “enter your ID” to access page.

They never banned cigarettes, but putting a giant warning on the box did help in vilifying cigarettes as very unhealthy and wrong.

I doubt it’ll go anywhere in this age of government, but its exactly the type of thing I would have gone for if I were tasked with solving a societal issue. It’s smart because it has no real effect on access, so social media companies would have a harder time fighting it, but it also gives a big bloody warning which does have a substantial psychological impact on users.

iirc someone did something similar with a very simple “are you sure?” app that gave a prompt asking if you were sure you wanted to post something or send a text. Just having a single prompt was enough for many people to reconsider their stupid text or comment.

  • It’s earily identical to the 1932 election candidates.

Hindenburg was the centrist incumbent, he didn’t go around publicly calling for genocide like Hitler did, but then he placed Hitler and some other Nazis in key leadership positions because he wanted to ally with his party, and two years later Hitler seized power after his death.

Biden has never called for a genocide, yet he has been actively funding one for 8 months while all the progressives in his cabinet are quitting. He seems unbothered by an election loss to Trump so long as the Pentagon’s foreign policy succeeds. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he dies in the next 2 years considering his health and stress of being president.

People don’t understand that Trump is a symptom and not a cause of the system. Even if he loses this election or dies or is disqualified, another equally or even more insane Republican will take his place. Meanwhile Democrats have refused to actually pass sizable progressive policies for 30-40 years. Biden only got to make his $15 minimum wage promise for only federal employees via an executive order because the party fell apart in congress with an actual bill. This will only lead to more republican voters.

Part of the issue is two party politics, but another part is the DNC refusing to combat fascism because surpsise surpise their candidates are funded by huge megacorp lobbyists who want to protect their corporate interests. Biden winning will not fix the problem, and 4 years down the line we will be faced with the exact same scenario.
