Depends what you mean by recent. I’m not even someone that plays with music, unless it’s an rpg or some other genre with a lot of talking, I just turn it off because I prefer listening to my own music.

But to answer your question, world of warcraft, Baldur’s gate3, clair obscur, Stardew valley, tropico 6, doom, hotline Miami, pretty much all the supergiant games, outer wilds, Cuphead, celeste, witcher 3, ac black flag + odyssey (fucking love those shanties).

And that’s just off the top of my head and from games I’ve played. I’m sure there’s tons more.

Edit: just as I pressed the post button I remembered how I’m always super hype for new civ games because they always have good soundtracks. Except for this lastest one, haven’t played this one.

Cheaters aren’t only aimbots. In fact, most of the time they’re not even using aimbot because that’s one of the easiest one to tell that someone is cheating. Most of the time they can just see everyone through walls. But if it’s cheater vs cheater and they don’t care about being caught then it’s not fun or interesting because you just use aim + speed + noclip (I assume that’s possible) and just kill everyone the second the round starts.

Yes, it’s a forum for people to talk and ask questions. But you’ve gotta realise that there’s a right and a wrong way to go about it. If you’re gonna post something useless that can easily be answered by typing the name in a search bar, the least you can do is be nice about it.

Yeah, that’s fair enough about Subnautica. Might be worth trying with a trainer or something to just bypass the grinding and still experience the rest, tho.

As for outer wilds… Definitely worth giving it a shot, imo. The first bit is indeed a bit long, but shouldn’t be longer than an hour, tbh. And after that the game autosaves quite often and even when you quit, afaik. Should be more than fine for short sessions.

Alien: isolation? Pretty good horror game, imo. SOMA? Subnautica can be pretty scary,. especially for people with thalassophobia or however it’s spelled… Outer wilds? Not horror, but it is quite unsettling. Also an all around amazing game that everyone should experience, imo.

All that, plus the fact that if you’re gonna pirate, private trackers are better and safer. And in that case you need to seed. And besides, if everyone switches to debrid and nobody seeds anymore, who are you going to leech from?

Decided to try one of the less political articles to see what it’d look like.

It’s feeling bad after you eat because you ate too much vs feeling bad while you eat because you’re forcing yourself to eat. Neither extreme is fun, I can promise you that.

They’re all cool if you’re into the games or whatever they cover, imo. Having books on stuff that you’re not familiar with feels weird, imo. Google Books covering your favourite games and stuff and I’m sure you’ll find plenty. But if you don’t care about that and just want cool gamer stuff to put on the coffee table, The Game Console 2.0: A Photographic History from Atari to Xbox might be one of those. There’s a LOTR illustrated edition. There’s a tomb raider cookbook and travel guide. World of warcraft also has tons of cool art and a cookbook. There’s God of war lore and legends. There’s The Art of Video Games from pacman to mass effect, etc. And for more, there’s This site.

That’s part of it and it’s probably part of the staying power, sure. But I’m pretty sure it exploded before it started doing that. Iirc, quite soon after release, Ninja became one of the most popular streamers on twitch, breaking records and stuff and he even did a stream with Drake which at the time was the biggest stream ever. People were speculating even then that maybe epic paid Drake, but well… could just as easily have been just Drake being Drake.

As for why it got popular in the first place… I think it’s just being at the right time in the right place. There was Minecraft hunger games, h1z1, PUBG and probably a few other smaller ones. They were all quite popular and then Fortnite came along and made it more accessible and arguably more fun and stuff as well. A few of my friends used to try pretty much all the popular games, especially shooters. And besides CS, Fortnite was definitely the one that kept them engaged the longest. That’s just anecdotal, but well… if it worked on us, it’s probably worked on many.

The looting you can skip with cheats. Technically you can skip a lot of traveling that way as well. But that’s a big part of the game, imo. If you don’t enjoy spending time in the game, then all you want to do is shoot people? There’s better games for that.

Nah, I’m willing to bet HL3 will come out (at the latest) 5 years after Gaben’s death. Not because he’s witholding it, obviously, but because whoever comes next will probably try to make as much money as possible and that’s an easy first way to do it.

One’s assassin’s Creed/horizon zero dawn/god of war, etc. The other is path of exile, diablo, torchlight, grim dawn etc.
