That is not a thing in most of the world.

No-one is going to want to commit nuclear attack submarines to a future hypothetical. It’s insane.
All well and good, but submarine reactors are extremely tricksy, and having the experience in designing and building them is a massive advantage. It’s a whole other order than any WW2 technology. See the issues France has had.
Hey, I saw a Black out on my lawn, eating worms. I banged on the window and scared him off though.
Political parties are also private organisations. You also bring a higher level of personal ambition into the mix.
The people are not legal scholars. They can choose who writes the law. Their influence is not constructive when it comes to the application of the law. A judge should make decisions based on law not on popularity contests.
I prefer the independent judiciary appointing judges based on legal ability myself, and keeping elected officials well away from it.
Ironically, it was PornHub’s parent company that was set to run the UK age verification scheme.
Wait til you hear they actually elect some judges, prosecutors and police chiefs.
They have representation in other ways. For instance in Britain, where it is illegal for police to unionise, there is instead a government-funded Police Federation, which independently advocates for police working conditions and supplies advice and representation for police in disciplinary affairs. The main difference from a union is that it is free to members and that police are not allowed to go on strike. This removes a lot of the worst abuses of power.

They might be pursuaded to suppress their violent mercenary instincts for a while, but ultimately every violent repressive regime relies on these people, and has indoctrinated them accordingly.
If the sort of person who was part of those organisations cared about rule of law, none of them would have boarded planes to Iraq. Appreciate the optimism though.
Then there’s people like the Dems of Hamtramck, Michigan, who were so proud of themselves for being morally superior that they got together as a town and elected the US’s first Muslim-majority city council in 2015. The celebrations stopped when the Muslim council promptly banned rainbow flags from public places.
Yeah but they’re mainly doing those awful things to their own residents. The rest of us can simply laugh at their poor choices.
You may be thinking of last week, when Israel fired on EU and Canadian diplomats. Or a few months ago when they fired on Irish peacekeepers. They have form on the matter.
They’re referring to a font used in promotional materials, rather than the advert itself.
That’s a myth. The music was licenced, as was the font.
She had a spreadsheet outlining the plot and character beats for the last books by the time the first film was made.
She’s just not a great writer.
