No: The behavior of the health insurance companies is what ignites anger. Maybe a better way to put it would be, “pours gasoline on to the fire.”

Think about it: What is socialism? It’s collectively funding or working on things via the government. There’s many competing definitions but that’s basically all there is to it.
Under that definition we’re already living under socialism:
With socialism the people get a say in how such things are run. In private institutions they don’t. That’s the biggest realistic difference.
Either way people are still paying for these things. If they’re not really competitive then private industry will fleece the masses because that’s what capitalism encourages (see: Healthcare). If there’s a robust, competitive market then socialism can fall behind in things like innovation and price.
Whether or not something is funded-and-run by the government is irrelevant. What matters is the value. If government can provide a better value for a dollar than private industry it should. If the people don’t like the result they can change it or use a private alternative.
Sure, they’ll be paying extra (on top of taxes) for the private alternative but at least it’s an option. If the government isn’t providing an alternative to private institutions then there’s really no option at all. Best anyone can do is vote with their wallet but as we can all see that just doesn’t work in certain industries (in fact, entire caregories of need!) and services.
Denny is a person who knew how to make waffles. Waffles that fall from above, because of deaf ears.
in 2 weeks people will be bored and worried about something else
No fucking way. Because the insurance companies won’t let them!
For fucking decades from now whenever someone gets screwed over by a health insurance company (which happens to probably hundreds of thousands every day) they’re going to think of this situation.
The killer has proven there’s an effective means for even poor people to institute change!
This is the United States! We don’t do that!
We either elect them into office or put them in charge of a health insurance company!
going to an online strangers house to confront them on camera
Isn’t that what journalists are supposed to do? Ya know… Investigate?
If it was some Fox News personality that went to his door would it be any different?
What about a concerned neighbor? Or literally anyone who just happened by that day and say, found their mail was delivered to the wrong address. Or any number of reasons.
It’s never legitimate to open your door and immediately pepper spray someone ringing your bell. If you think they’re dangerous you could just not open the door or perhaps call the police or any number of other completely normal reactions.
Of course, if you’re a total psychopath Nazi then it might seem like a normal reaction 🤷
we’ve evolved a lot.
Clearly some haven’t.
I’m sure she would have if she had more campaign time. There were only so many news cycles between when she started and the election and the media did it’s usual thing of monopolizing coverage of Trump’s insanity (because outrage brings views).
This news is from November 14th. OP trying to make recent events into a new trend perhaps?
I don’t know whether to be appalled or impressed. Either way it’s quite clever.
Give us a standalone VR headset that runs SteamOS and the world of VR will change overnight. Meta will instantly become a minor player!
They might catch the shooter when he sends the bill for that $2,000,000 bullet. Only $10,000 will be owed though because of the deductible which anyone can afford!
No, that’s Salty AI
were fined a combined $821,223
Should’ve given that to the kids. Create an incentive for other kids to report on their fucking evil employers.
Clearly the law is sexist. To correct the situation all men should be required to wear them as well.
Well, you didn’t think they’re UFOs because they’re not “unidentified” to aliens 🤷
ON ROCK AND ROLL!
I wonder what the yield is on these wafers? 🤔
For Microsoft, the key threat is that the Steam Deck isn’t even a Windows OS device by default, let alone having Microsoft’s Xbox services and Game Pass on it. Valve has used the platform, very successfully, to evolve Steam from being simply a digital store that runs (usually) on Windows, into being a very capable gaming OS in its own right.
That, perhaps more than anything else happening in the industry in recent years, is a threat to Microsoft’s plans for the Xbox platform and gaming more broadly – and if the success of the Steam Deck is a key component of that threat, then creating an Xbox device to compete directly in that space seems like the logical response.
And there’s the real reason why Microsoft cares. The success of the Steam Deck is a threat to Windows because it runs Linux. Also, the more games that run on the Steam Deck means the more games run on Linux.
Microsoft normally solves problems like this by abusing their monopoly and crushing their competition. In this case though, Microsoft is the underdog since Steam is the one with a much larger gaming monopoly. They’re going to have to spend billions and billions if they want to stand a chance against the Steam Deck.
The other enormous problem they face is that Windows is very, very far behind when it comes to technology compared to Linux. Devices made for Linux vastly outperform the best hardware that runs Windows. Even if that hardware was made to run Windows!
Windows is decades behind Linux from a technological development standpoint. For example, Windows is still running the same filesystem from over 30 years ago!
What this means is that for any given portable hardware Linux is going to vastly outperform Windows in basically every benchmark from battery life to frame rate. That doesn’t even include the fact that in Windows you’re forced to install many background apps (and kernel level rootkit anti-cheat) that takes up memory and slows everything down just to get basic security and play games.
Ummm… That’s awfully convenient. He just happened to have brought that exact gun with its suppressor to McDonald’s. I’m skeptical.
