They definitely aren’t. They just passed an anti-lgbt bill and the next day a well known trans woman was stabbed to death.

Guess we need to give a fuck to give some fucks.
I have one of these and a dumper.
I took all of the games we have and dumped them onto an SD card. I use it for the second switch we have that our kid uses.
No messing about with swapping cartridges and taking a chance on losing one, which has already happened once.
I ended up with a V2 which is even better. No wear and tear from popping the cartridge in and out and all the games on it.
Aside from the “inconvenience” of having to push the button to roll through the games, it was worth it.
I’m curious about the stick drift thing.
I have 3 controllers, two of which I’ve had since maybe 6 months after the PS5 was released since that’s about how long it took me to get one.
Both controllers have a few hundred hours on them, neither have stick drift. The third one doesn’t have nearly the amount of hours on it since my kid spilled juice on it and I procrastinated for a few months to take it apart and clean it lol so I’m not considering that one.
Is it really that bad or did I just get lucky? These things are almost 4 years old and still work perfectly fine.
Did you read the article?
He was already a special needs student with an apparently individualized education program. This doesn’t sound like a “Why now?” Situation. It sounds a bit like there may be more going on, especially since the school district declined to answer when questioned about it.
You may be right that it’s probably not the first sign of aggression but he’s also autistic with other issues. Do you know how expensive it is to get help, how our healthcare/insurance system preys on people to take their money rather than help them, and the likelihood of this family maybe not being able to help more than they already were?
I feel sorry for the person that he hurt, but this is a mentally ill black kid getting tossed in prison because of a mental illness. Which is going to ruin him just like you said.
The judge saying he showed no remorse is bs used to paint this kid in the worst light. Well no fucking shit he showed no remorse, if he’s got a bunch of mental problems that would make sense. I knew a kid growing up that was similar, he was extremely strong and even the slightest thing could set him on a rampage. His parents drained everything they had into helping him, but it wasn’t enough. When the insurance stops paying what are you going to do?
I’m not saying that nothing should be done but there’s more to this than “parents failed the kid with mental disabilities”.
Yeah, it sounds like some reform to the process should be made.
I don’t necessarily disagree with having child welfare involved, just how they handle things might be a bit (or a lot) on the iffy side.
This is where you get to an impasse though, the procedures are possibly (I say possibly because I don’t know the history there) the way they are because people complained of not getting enough help, so the rules were changed to become more involved to better protect those needing help. Now it’s too much so people are up in arms again.
So often victims of domestic abuse go back to that situation, whether it be fear, love, pain, or whatever other reason there is. There is a reason for “but we simply don’t trust you to stick to that decision”.
There isn’t a cut and dry solution to problems like this. It doesn’t really matter which direction they go, there will always be people screaming about not doing enough, or doing too much etc.
They may be legally required to tell the abuser what is going on… I mean, how can you serve a no contact order without telling the accused.
There is a ton of work to unfold here, so many things that are in place for a reason, as unreasonable as it may seem. It will always be a work in process with such sensitive situations.
So why can’t we call this what it is.
An attempt at election interference and throw his ass in prison for treason. For such a high profile person it should be considered no less.
Ahh ok, that makes more sense. To be fair though, I rarely saw any Subarus when I lived down south, but once I moved out west they are pretty much all over. So it’s not beyond the realm of having different distributions of cars in different areas.
There are Mazda 5’s for sale near where I live in the US. Where do you live in the US that they aren’t available?
Really? I’ve never actually noticed one.
Maybe because of the ad blocking stuff I use on my phone.
Waze works well also.
Edit: I’m getting a lot of down votes and just wanted to clarify that I have never seen an ad in Waze.
I 100% believe people saying there are a lot of ads. I think the way that I have my phone setup is why I’m not getting ads.
Will definitely have to look into the others mentioned here.
Again, it is not a “Custom OS” you aren’t installing it as an OS from an ISO. You are still required to have your own licensed version of windows and install that prior to using AtlasOS. Using it does not cause security and instability issues as long as you understand what you are doing. Yes it is stripping things from windows. It’s also open source so if you were so inclined you could see exactly what is being done.
If you equate using an automated solution to do things that you could do manually albeit with a bit more work involved, then every single OS is custom the second you change anything on it.
I do use Linux for what it’s worth and have been for around 20 years. I’ve also been working in Tech for the last 15 ish years. I wouldn’t be blindly recommending something that would wreck someone’s security.
Please do some research.
https://github.com/atlas-os/atlas
There’s a link to their source code. They even state that you have options to what security settings get messed with. So again, as long as you READ and understand what you are doing, you aren’t necessarily breaking your systems security.
It’s not a custom version of windows.
Please make sure you do some research before you implicate things.
AtlasOS modifies a fresh install of windows to help get rid of bloat ware and some of the security concerns that MS puts in their OS.
Dual boot, and use something like AtlasOS to clean up the BS that comes with windows.
I have a separate drive with windows for solidworks and a few online games I play occasionally. 99% of the time I run Linux though.
That being said I understand if you game online a lot and those games don’t work in Linux then that really isn’t an option.
At the very least though I would check out something like AtlasOS, it works for both W10 and 11.
I primarily run Linux but absolutely understand the need for things that only work with windows so I dual boot. That being said I use AtlasOS which cleans up W10 pretty good. I don’t have any of the crappiness that is currently hitting users.
Also here’s another site that has some information on AtlasOS as well as some other tools.
https://www.xbitlabs.com/best-custom-windows-10-iso-for-gaming/
I know it says for gaming but I use solidworks as well as some other software and my idle resource usage has went way down and it runs so much better.
As someone that has been working around weapons for the better part of 20 years, I disagree with your statement of not being blamed.
It’s unfortunate yes, but whoever had that weapon in their hands and pulled the trigger should hold some blame.
If anyone ever hands you a weapon, movie set or not, it should be checked.
I do understand that it doesn’t quite work that way but that’s how it should be. Anyone handling a real weapon, especially during the course of ones job, should be required to go through training.
You’re right even though you’re getting down voted.
Doesn’t make Uber or Lyft any less shady of a company but so many people have no idea of the overhead it takes to “run an app”. They think that it’s just some computers talking over the Internet that they pay 100$ a month for and not the possible 100’s of thousands of dollars they pay monthly for the infrastructure to support those apps.
It’s not an offline game that someone can just download and play, it’s a live service that is running, plus all of the data whether financial or otherwise that is being stored on multiple levels of backups not to mention the security infrastructure that needs to be maintained etc etc etc.
That being said, I’m not defending these companies in the slightest, but for someone to just say “run an app” is a massive understatement.
That’s interesting.
Here is a better link for it that isn’t pushing Google products. Not implying you are doing that, just wanted to provide a non Google link is all.
If I overdraft it pulls from another account that I have. I still get hit with an overdraft charge even though there was money in the other account to cover it. It’s not necessarily as simple as you say.
You could bring up the argument of changing banks, but aside from that one issue, the bank I use has done really well by me, to include reversing a debit (not credit) card charge when there was a bad charge.
Realistically, the overdraft charge should be eliminated and banks just shouldn’t allow the charges to go through unless there is a separate account that has money to cover it.
This is in Canada not the US.
