I was surprised that the video was actually quite good.

Those who have not been burned yet often don’t expect it to happen to them. Usually it isn’t anything big causing it but some typo in a config or software not updated on time.
Remember that with services facing public internet it’s not about if you get hacked but when you get hacked. It’s personal photos on someone elses hands then.
This must be an international thing. I have almost exactly the same experience but as a student. Older lady from the shop got fired as giving dated food was considered liability and stealing.
Your reply just raised so many questions but most importantly why would you need a VPN with Jellyfin? I mean it’s just server like any other which means install, add certificates or reverse proxy with certificates and if you’re behind NAT you would need to setup port forwarding.
I mean if you’re worried about server being exploited if not updated then opening it to the internet wouldn’t be good but isn’t that the case with Plex already?
So expected. Now anyone who’s able to support the non exploitative alternatives like Jellyfin please do. It’s how you keep the good things going.
Well that wasn’t in US or Japan but in French court so might not be as easy to pull that bs there. Still I was surprised a bit about the result but I guess it’s in line with how France is handling online services now.
What court case doesn’t big company with unlimited funds win?
Nah… I suspect that Sony simply doesn’t want to anger hackers again. The cost of downtime is likely to be higher than the imaginary profits they get from harassing emulator communities. I doubt they think their reputation is worth much but maybe they have started to see some value on it.
Japanese gaming companies often don’t seem to understand the value of the reputation / honor which is really weird considering that it’s one of the things japanese culture is supposed to value.
Does the controller battery have enough charge?
I’m doubtful that it’s the same issue with the firmware as it doesn’t show up as a usb-device when connected via cable. I don’t think you can update the firmware without usb-connection.
Have you tried another usb-cable? What make and model is your bluetooth adapter? Clone adapters have huge amount of problems and USB-cables can break or be only for charging having no leads for data.
Is the controller original or 3rd party / clone?
Edit: I managed to just now notice that you actually wrote that the Bluetooth somewhat works.
Does the controller work at all? Have you checked it using Xbox or another computer? Does the USB-port work?
Tailscale + Caddy (automatic certificates FTW).
