It’s also really good for making sure that whoever wins the most acres of land gets a huge electoral boost. Because that’s important.

I very much doubt that. Their metric is fundraising, and the money/rich people is/are on the right.
As long as we can keep the port of New Orleans and navigation rights to the Mississippi River, they can go disappear right up their misinformed idea of God’s asshole. “The South” is a luxury we can no longer afford.
State senator, not real senator.
This comment confuses me
70 or older in my family. My dad’s wife just posted an excited post on Facebook about a Tesla Concorde taking off, and do had to explain to her that it’s a flight simulator. She’s 73.
I think old people are the ones less likely to understand this stuff.
But she was the first female parliamentarian. They couldn’t possibly do that, or replace her. She was doing such an important job: the job of being the first female parliamentarian. Think of all the little girls who, every day, look up to her as the first female parliamentarian, and then to see her not listened to by Chuck Schumer. What will all of those little girls think?
/s because that’s apparently necessary to spell out
Yeah, the US is the only thing keeping Israel in business. They’re useful to keep an eye on Iran, because we don’t like Iran, because…?
Saudis need our weapons, and Qatar likes the money we spend to keep our increasing number of bases there. But these are purely transactional relationships that we can have with anyone.
I think Kuwait are still fans of the US.
Other than that, everyone hates us because we protect Israel, and they hate Israel. Why don’t we just join the club, and pick up an entire region of strategic allies instead of “Israel at all costs”?
I think she ended up not even going to that school
We gotta have a war. Either China or Middle East, doesn’t matter. /s
If Biden wins and survives to the end of a second term, I think the nomination will be hotly contested.
Counting on cultural stasis will always result in disappointment. Luckily, neither culture nor disappointment are permanent.
He promised to pick a woman, not specifically a black woman. That’s why there are still unsubstantiated rumors that he/his team had settled on Klobuchar until George Floyd happened. That would clarify how they got Klobuchar to step out of the race so easily, too. If Biden promised Buttigieg a vague cabinet position, and Amy the VP… the two of them dropping out at just the right time makes complete sense.
Harris “represents” her surface-level demographic, but in her time in Oakland, she rolled back the practices of her predecessor Terence Hallinan, who was possibly the most progressive DA in the country. During his two terms, violent crime dropped by 60%, and he was an outspoken advocate for weed legalization. He said sex work was a public health issue and not a criminal one, and worked to steer as many non-violent cases into diversion/rehab and away from jail time as possible.
All of this, of course, pissed off the cops to no end. So Harris cozied up to the police and big money donors, and ran the now-typical “tough on crime” candidacy… And, well, you can see what has happened to San Francisco between when she was elected in 2003 and now.
I know we have outposts in Israel keeping an eye on - as an example - Iran and shit, but why do we have to be enemies with Iran in the first place? Our situation with Israel just seems like a pointless one-way relationship that only serves to further alienate the rest of the middle east from us.
The US doesn’t have any strategic benefit in propping up Israel other than doing so being weirdly important to white voters.
Non-random survival of randomly varying replicators, according to Richard Dawkins.
A lot of these anti-vaxxers would be fine with not educating their kids.
OTOH, a bunch of them would just want to educate them at some sort of vaccine-free school or something, which they would presume would get government money. As long as they don’t get money…
I’ve only bought Brother laser printers for 15 years now, and have no intention of doing anything else. Never again, HP.
Lol, wrong. Delaware’s surpassed by like 6 other states. Wyoming is the most disproportionally represented per voter.
