Reddit -> Beehaw until I decided I didn’t like older versions of Lemmy (though it seems most things I didn’t like are better now) -> kbin.social (died) -> kbin.run (died) -> fedia.

Fuck this company.
They’ve been awful for many, many years at this point. I’ve no idea why people keep giving them money and expecting them to not be awful.
I have an LG with WebOS and have youtube premium and haven’t seen any ads so far (though it may be regional). Cheers for the link, tough. I wonder if it works on Japanese versions
Generally yes and generally no, in that order. At least in the call centers I worked where one could wear about anything. At my shirt-and-tie job, generally yes and yes.
I should note that I haven’t lived in the US in years, so I don’t know what things look like today.
I worked in an actual call center in my 20s and, aside from the interview where it’s advisable to dress somewhat nicely, we were mostly free to wear whatever we wanted as long as it kept all the appropriate bits covered enough.
As someone older than the public internet, these people and positions always existed. The difference in my opinion is that the 24-hour news cycle and online echo chambers combined with less in-person meeting, particularly with others in the community different to oneself has just further isolated and polarized people. There’s also an argument that heavily-biased cable “news” (which is oftentimes more “opinions” and sometimes “outright lies”) going unchecked has further polarized and divided people.
The EU is big and varied so I think that’s a pretty broad question. I did visit a few countries but was too poor as a young adult to move to any. I moved to Japan later in life. If I had it to do again, I would probably pick Norway or maybe Finland.
You are correct and I am aware of that. However, it also seems that they both refuse to learn it and refuse to work with people at that expert level based on the recent drama, which seems very much like holding things back to me.
I mean, I work as a software engineering and if I’m not doing continuing ed, be it about architecture, storage, or new languages, I’m going to be of less value in the marketplace. I’ve learnt languages I didn’t particularly want to in the past for work (though I generally came to tolerate or even like some of them. Not lua, though; lua can go to hell).
If Rust truly is the better, safer option, then these people are holding everything back.
I’d get a book or something and get off the internet were I you. It’s good to take a break either way, sometimes.
After the massive blunder of Starfield, I cannot see how Elder scrolls 6 could possibly be successful
I mean, this statement alone supposes that the company will not learn anything from the failure. Even if you assume they do not care about the game or its players, they do care about their bottom line and profits and that alone is motivation to learn from mistakes.
I’ve personally not given them a dime since their bait-and-switch and other shady tactics around the launch of Fallout 76 (I was a paying ESO customer and I cancelled because of that). So far as I know, they didn’t do anything like that for Starfield which would demonstrate some learning of lessons (unless I haven’t heard of it).
I’m not sure I understand. The game is available on other platforms, but that’s not what your post’s title is asking, specifically mentioning ‘on PS5’. Or were you trying to point something else out that I’m not awake enough to see yet?
For what it’s worth, I’ve not heard of it on Steam, either, but I effectively work two jobs right now so I don’t have much time to game, sadly, and don’t often keep up with the news.
Because I don’t have a PS5 and don’t follow its games?
I can’t address the first part, but for your last paragraph, if you’re sharing with humans, csv is fine. If you’re sharing with humans and machines, JSON or yaml or something similar is probably fine. If you’re only moving things around to give to machines, what to use depends on constraints you might have and use cases
Same. I remember wanting to try my friend’s coleco but it never happened for some reason I don’t recall.
I’ve been living without the first two for years now. I could live without youtube if I really needed to, though I do watch a lot of stuff about farming that is really helpful. Most of my youtube watching is educational with a slight smattering of games and entertainment and a tiny bit of news.
My dad, my classmate’s family, and I all had one in the early '90s. An old friend collected (probably still does) them and had a variety in his closet. I think we can safely say ‘at least around 20’ now.
Dad was also in a commodore user group back before the modern internet. Those meetings were always fun.
Did you think about it until it happened to you? There’s a huge lack of empathy and thought in general (I would argue that, as communities, this increased as social media became more prevalent and in-person third places shrank). Even then, if there is a concerned group, they still have to fight all those other people who are not concerned because they don’t think it will affect them or are possibly mildly inconvenienced by it. I think addressing that would help. Also, writing to your elected officials and voting in all elections.
I just don’t have time. RPGs are still my favorite genre, and I used to even work in the MMORPG space. I have a fulltime job, a house I just bought and have to upkeep (I was renting until now), and farming. On top of that, spending time with the wife and all of the regular shopping and chores still exist. Further still, I try to always be learning something for fun, but I haven’t even really had time to do that. The most entertainment I have these days is listening to podcasts and youtube vids whilst working outside.
Console? You mean Macintosh?
Either way, I’m glad to see it getting some love; I played it on Amiga growing up.
