No idea why you’re being downvoted but I agree. My non flagship android is more than adequate for my demands of it.
I browsed reddit before the blackout and said this is the alternative, now that the blackout is in progress, I’m now here. I’m just a guy in my mid-20s, nothing special.

Thanks for responding with the most important tidbit on the article. Bot needs to do a better summary.
Once again, thank you for this wonderful instance and I’m glad this is my home.
The 5s have spoken.
It’s linked on this post itself, either on GitHub or on Ko-Fi
This has already been answered on this post: https://lemm.ee/post/2561997
there are options on that for some apps I heard (like Connect), and I believe that’s one feature they might be implementing for Lemmy in the future.
But we are federated with most other lemmy instances, not just .world. The list is here: https://lemm.ee/instances
Yeah that YouTube repost bot is the worst offender imo. Crowds the local feed and brings nothing to the table, blocked it was soon as it inconvenienced me from reading actual stuff here on Lemmy
My opinion is that it’s a horrible bot, if I didn’t block it, it would be all over my local feed
Can confirm, I hate that bot and blocked it myself. The most useless thing ever, I hope someone deactivates it or that it’s auto-blocked for new users.
I think it’s a limitation on how the lemmy code was set up, it’s not an instance issue.
it shows the number of subscribers on the instance you’re currently at
I would also like to bring attention to Thunder if you haven’t tried it yet.
I agree with this approach, defederate first then federate later if the good outweighs the bad. I’m glad to be on this instance for sure.
there’s only one lemmit bot, since I blocked it I don’t see any more of its repost garbage.
