I was actually delighted when Windows 11 added tabs to notepad and explorer, and layers make MSPaint worth using.
But all of these things became buggy messes. Explorer showing ads for OneDrive and inexplicable behavior, On more than one occasion, the address bar would become unusable, and I deeply resent having to use the mouse to do simple tasks.
Now I know that this was prelude to Copilot.
So now I daily drive Debian making me a computer user, not a resource for billionaires to mine.
Chris Christie was the prosecutor that put Chuck in prison. This was a great source of friction during the first administration.
This is the most humane idea the administration has had. They could multiply the benefit and still save the taxpayer the price of cruel rendition.
Reddit has banned a community devoted to a nihilistic, anti-life philosophy
This sentence contradicts itself. Devotion to a philosophy or ideology is precisely what nihilism is not.
To the argument “The Earth is valuable and should be protected” the nihilist would point out that earth having value depends on the continued existence of Humans.
Obviously this fit’s the narrative of fossil fuel and xenophobes, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a serious concern.
Honestly, I’m nervous about my TP link network gear.
It’s weird that Linux certification requires rote-memorization of commands. The only people who make any effort to memorize commands are newbies and people studding for exams. You will always have access to bash history, man, and --help, even from an offline machine.
Every command I’ve memorized is simply the natural process of repetition. Is that your experience?
Countdown to Trump saying something deplorable. 10…9…8…
I hate AI as much as the next lemming, but nobody is going to tell me a babble fish for real isn’t cool AF.
I disagree. Those are vulnerable people and this kind of behavior is a big red flag for abuse. If Utah is overprotective of it’s wards, it’s the only State in the nation that is.
Boy, you had to read pretty far to lean that the suspect was dead at the scene.
“The subject had nihilistic ideations and this was a targeted attack against the IVF facility,"
I don’t dispute he had “nihilistic ideaitions”, but nihilism can never motivate terrorism or anything else. It happens to be the nature of the universe and I’m frustrated how many people treat it as synonyms with being disturbed and violent. Their was a time when ‘atheist’ was used in the same way.
It wasn’t a museum, or a living heritage site, it’s where southern debutantes threw antebellum themed weddings.
It needed to be destroyed for what it is as much as what it was.
This is an objective good. The only historical value was as a crime scene, not a goddamn wedding venue. How would we feel if skin-heads partied at Auschwitz, or the Saudi Royals threw shindigs at Ground Zero?
The heritage is hate.
the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire.
Online debate is a waste of time. You can somewhat short-circuit the bad-faith stuff by arguing values instead of facts or policy.
For example, if you say that the State has no right to remove trans kids from their parents, you’ve made a legal argument that’s vulnerable to all the bad faith and you may even be technically wrong. However if you argue that you trust parents to decide what’s best over the State, there is nothing to argue about. Bonus, you might actually get some real talk out of reactionaries.
However, the company said it had found no evidence to date that its Azure platform and AI technologies were used to target or harm people in the Gaza Strip.
A lawyer wrote that statement. I read between the lines that M$ has a don’t ask, don’t tell policy in regards to war crimes.
You can find podcasts called “slow news” or something like that where they present the days news in the language your learning but take care to speak slowly and enunciate.
Living proof that fascists don’t work food-service. Or maybe food-service workers are immunized against fascist ideology. Either way I hope 47 gets 86’ed.
Just another reason to wait long after release to buy a game. Denuvo charges games companies to administer the DRM infrastructure and most developers will strip it out of their games after it’s been out for a while.
Buying games on launch is one of the most anti-customer experiences you can get. And that’s saying something in our wonderful capitalist economy
monocausal explanations are always bullshit.
Knowing that pharmaceutical companies have undue influence on public policy and public health is useful for understanding the world. Thinking that Big Pharma controls everything makes you RFKjr.
They should have left the graphics alone and worked to squash bugs and add playability/quality-of-life features.
Those games are famous for being brilliant, but deeply flawed. Graphics were not the flaw.
