I wish the article specified whether downloadable images of pizza actually sold for thousands of dollars or whether they were simply listed for that much. Like I can put my toenail clippings up on eBay with a $1000 price tag but it doesn’t mean people are buying them.

Art is used for money laundering. Digital art on Etsy is just a new incarnation of something people have been doing for a long time.

If I owe you a $1000 for drugs you fronted me, I’d buy your clippers, eBay would take a cut, and your money is now laundered.

Is it happening in the Etsy basement and run by Hillary Clinton? 🙄

The ads are very strange, probably either a troll intentionally seeking this outcome or a scammer targeting pedophiles who believed in pizzagate and used it to look for CSAM. In any case, very weird.

Troll seems most likely given it’s specifically a pizza. But there’s several reasons someone would put up a fake listing. Could be a poorly thought out method for “laundering” stolen credit cards. Or someone just hoping for a bored or drunk millionaire. Or someone boosting # of listings stats on their account. Or a temporary placeholder because they’re trying to transfer reviews between listing’s. I’m sure there’s more possibilities.

Isn’t them just trying to throw off the fact that they are the ones doing this kind of thing?
