I’ve quit sugar like 10-11 times now, not completely, but got to a point where I could go basically go without sugar all day with no problem… every time I have to requit sugar (always bcz of the holidays), it’s an insane endeavor filled with brain fog, anxiety, and sometimes lack of sleep.

Moral of the story…Sugar is a drug you shouldn’t mess with. Just say no to cookies.

    ???

I mean, Im still a nicotine addict, but that shit is waaaay more physically addictive than cocaine, and the withdrawals are as bad as heroin withdrawals.

    Sugar?

So, sugar, actual cane sugar, is good for you in moderation.

If you frequently eat HFCS food, try switching to alternatives that use actual real sugar.

Yep. They cost more. This is a /feature/ of my SugarHolicsAnonymous plan.

Built in incentive to draw back a little bit at first, while still getting some sugar, and that sugar /is better for you/.

You can generally expect your health to improve gradually overtime, mostly actually just from cutting HFCS out of your diet as much as possible.

Switch to maybe a fancy dark chocolate bar instead of a donut or cheesecake. If you are still hungry, eat some rice, refried beans or some flank steak and vegetables. Spices go a long way, learn how to use them properly. But some lemon zest and juice in your salad instead of most common salad dressings which have HFCS.

Pair this with a 20 minute walk 3 times a week and you will feel better about yourself and get healthier faster (though we are still talking months, realistically), and your cravings for HFCS will lessen.

Anyway this is a long winded way to say that this is a really stupid joke that is not funny.

Anyone who thinks sugar is a hard addiction to quit is objectively a whiney little baby compared to the actual science of trying to quit nicotine.

I love the “cigarettes more addictive than heroin” just because tobacco is easy to access… biggest farce ever

The rate of addiction is higher for tobacco than heroin (45% vs 30% if I remember correctly).

I will try to find a source and add it in an edit.

I have yet to see a study that removes variables like ease of access. It’s easier to quit something when you lose your dealer and literally don’t know how to get more.

I guess I just take issue with the “addictiveness” definition part. Like sugar v Heroin. Yes you’re more likely to relapse on sugar, but quitting Heroin is going to be so much harder. If they put heroin in every grocery store or convenience mart I guarantee the addiction stats would change.

I don’t have issue with the term addictiveness. I get what you are saying though.

Heroin addiction is way worse because it destroys your life. You become non-functional if you don’t have your fix.

If you don’t have a cigarette, you are cranky, but you don’t get necrotizing fasciitis. But if you need your fix, you’ll inject/sniff/smoke anything to get your fix and it is usually drugs cut with dangerous chemicals.

Most people I talk to face to face are idiots, like this comedian, so, nah, not today.

Most people I talk to irl are not assholes. They are idiots though.

Is this really that hard to grasp, the idea of an intelligent person being surrounded by those less mentally capable?

This is some kind of impossible situation?
