Then some right wing nutjobs were mad about that and we’re targetting his events and harrassing him until he fell in line.

So yeah. He will change his mind, if he is bullies enough.

Also I think the group that were harassing his events was Nick Fuentas (spelling?) and now some of the coverage is indicating the shooter might have been a follower of Nick? I’m not sure how confirmed that is so do your own research.

The funds, or painting itself, should be returned to the families it was stolen from. That family was very likely Jewish. So you saying “give it to Palestine!” implies taking from Jewish people, which would be unfair, but in this context also implies they “owe” it because Israel is to blame, and Jews=Israel.

I do see your connection now that you have explained it though, I wonder if maybe you just stumbled and missed the very negative subtext within your suggestion.

Well now you are armed with that info for next time. I too have trouble standing up to misinformation. It’s a problem where I won’t just spout things I haven’t verified and can source, no matter how true I THINK it is. It’s baffling how others can just howl into the nothing about things they heard somewhere and are positive it’s true.

Last time I was sure of a point during one of those sorts of discussions it was amazing to see the deflation in the room. “What do you mean?”

Yeah I’m not “the boss” of my parents. My dad was very tech savvy, but he doesn’t have the same memory and cognition as he used to so when I set it up nice he likes it, but any friction sets him off to “solve” the problem… By doing some random totally different thing that doesn’t so much solve the problem as “gets it working, sort of” with a browser he recognizes. Then because there are ads he loses interest and just puts on the 24/7 news cycle. :(

So my parents use chrome even though I constantly install Firefox and hide chrome. Problem there is they end up with Edge so I stopped doing that. (Didn’t windows get in trouble for this kind of market control in the 90’s?)

So I had Ublock origin on chrome for them but it’s “not supported” anymore and my usual method of ignoring what it says and turning it back on are now failing.

Mostly true. Depends on the structure of the company I’d imagine. Pretending shit works like it’s written in the rule book and not exactly what you just said (won’t get involved cause he is boss) HR would absolutely bring this to the board of directors as it jeopardizes the company’s bottom line. And we all know Money is the real boss.

I haven’t read to many articles on the matter but for all we know hr lady does not like him at all but wanted to keep/get that job and now she is stuck in an abusive relationship. Can’t share with her partner cause yeah… And can’t get HR to step in cause… Yeah.

I’ve seen this response a ton and I think that’s exactly correct, but I can’t imagine the anxiety in the hours, day and weeks after. Just waiting and wondering if anyone recognised you, if anyone had a recording/proof. Then after a few months under the radar I might not be a complete train wreck.

But then what if Coldplay puts out a Netflix special or something, then I’d have to wait and wait until it came out and then watch it and see if that moment makes it into the recording… And if it does? Now I’m just waiting for some random friend of a friend to watch it and go “hang on…”

Probably why I’d never cheat on my partner, especially at a huge public gathering, when the person I’m cheating with is an employee and I’m the fucking CEO and could lose my job over it.
