  • Obviously you just mandate your game and console be always online and at that point you may as well just live stream the game to their house, don’t need to download if you never actually own it right?? Make them pay per the minute of game time and only unlock the next level after they’ve played long enough! Hell! Why even sell a game?? Just have people pay you for the right to advertise that they paid for it and charge them a daily subscription to keep the rights! Nobody owns anything but you! Art and entertainment is merely a vessel to siphon money from the masses! Purchase their souls for a hit of dopamine! Rent them their own eyes!

  • Not sure if you’re being sarcastic but “digital only” means the only way to put games on the device is via digital downloads (aka from the web store downloaded via internet).

Each company tries this because it effectively eliminates the third party/aftermarket sales and gets them a monopoly on prices. Never have to lower the price on a game to move physical copies of you don’t have physical copies to store, so games no matter how old can stay at full price for as long as they like. Don’t have to cut your margins by selling at a reduced price to a third party to resell so all the profit comes home.

I know why companies do it, it makes sense financially. But turns out a lot of people aren’t fans of not being allowed to have the option to physically own their own media, even if they don’t always do it.

  • I don’t sympathize with this dudes rhetoric at all, just adding that from his mouth movements he does seem to be making an “m” sound not an “n” sound with his mouth.

He’s probably still really racist, but I’ve got racist family and if they ever decide to drop a “hard r” you can see it in their face. I do think it was a case of trying to say “immigrants”, flubbing it, then just saying “migrants” because he realizes what it sounds like. Even the forced laughter afterwards has a sort of “oh shit that didn’t sound good” vibe to it.

Again, not defending this guy. But we have to remember, all sides of politics can spin stuff to fit their agenda, so we have to be discreet in our decisions and judgements, that’s how we stand apart from all the people just sucking down the news as gospel truth.

  • As a guy, these apps suck. I’ve met a few people on them, but it’s very obvious that they are deliberately hiding matches and people that are your type behind a paywall. It’s not in their best interest to show you people that have the same interests as you, it’s better if they bundle them all up and slap a big fat price tag on the front.

People are starting to realize these apps aren’t about hooking up or making connections, they’re about squeezing desperate people looking for love into giving money for the promise of finding it.

  • It sucks, but there is a lot of precedent in the US for “you are allowed to be as stupid with your money as you want, as long as you’re sane.”

He may have delusions around his religion or beliefs, but he has the rights to have those delusions and beliefs, and if he wants to place bets on his beliefs because he holds them that strongly then he can. If someone else spots him as a mark and takes advantage of him, sure it was dumb of him, and they may not be in the cleanest moral area, but that’s America, learn your lesson and move on.

You go to New York and some guy sells you a newspaper that helps raise money for charity and the homeless for $5 and you believe him then find out it’s a free paper all over the city, that’s life.

We can protect you when you don’t know any better, but when you bet everyone in the room that you can fly and you can’t? That’s a hard bet to make buddy, and a harder bill to pay.
